Small World Music Centre x Halloween Showcase Finale

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with the team at @smallworldnotes to put on an amazingly fun-filled (and music-packed) Halloween night, Friday past.
@emadsaedi did an amazing job with his new project reveal as well!! (Out soon!) Kudos bro 🙌🏾🙏🏾✨✨✨

If you don't know me, ask anyone who did or does: I've ALWAYS had headphones on or on me. Always with the OG walkman and mixtapes, mix CDs, bootleg NY album cassettes. Sold them on the block from the 'plethora' plug.

I love/d this type of art, this cultural style, recording, mixing, playing stuff from ever since. It's community, and I represent it through my own experiences and tastes - and foremost - by not giving up on these gifts and what they do for my life, entirely. 🙏🏾👑💯

I'm excited and nervous about next week Friday's show. This year has been superrr heavy (like the band 😋). It's been a rollercoaster to say the least, I've lost so much and gained so much more - and those who know know...

This event marks an epic new journey and steps towards my destiny. I give thanks for the opportunity to work with such amazing artists. From the behind-the-scenes pieces that make this thing work, to the front men on stage with me - I pray that Creator, the angels, the arch-angels, our spirit guides / spirit team walk with us through it and grant us space to express freely, and authentically from the heart. 💗

I want to share something that fits the theme of the eve...something that just happened to me... ❤️👑✨✨✨

.
I was looking for something specific to eat and the store that makes this dish was closing...as I was headed back home, I noticed a restaurant that I've never eaten at before...but I thought, even though the culture is kind of different, they may have a similar option...
.
.
I told the owner what I wanted and she suggested something larger, I said I have never had this so I'll build up to it another time... 🫡 while I was waiting, she came to me with a plate - told me what it was and pulled a piece of the roti-like bread, scooped up the food with one gentle hand, and blessed it before she fed me some...(I'm very conscious about that sorta thing - after all we just met, and I'ma gentleman 😉😭)

...There's a love that I'm learning to receive these days. It's not forced, it's not arbitrary, it doesn't come with an agenda...it's pure and from the heart! I can feel it, discernment is key to carry forth in this new era of my life. Jah guides the way and my father always has my back! 💯🙏🏾🙏🏾

This video is a testament to all the purity I've experienced this year, all the things that bring me joy when I look at it (even silly pics that just make me laugh 😂). I've always had a hard time receiving love - in many ways - I think I'm starting to recognize what love actually is (and I'm starting to get the hang of it!)

On December 1st, my buddy @empirethief asked me to join him and his band on stage, alongside @mehdirostami80 🙏🏾🙏🏾. I got up, faced that fear, let the spirit guide me and rocked a rap with the band...little did I realize what it meant in that moment - I'll explain...✨✨

My first, best friend was born on Dec. 1 1985. He left this earth on Dec. 6th 2009. 3 days prior he said 'dont give up on the music - it was some of the best times of our lives'. I started writing at age 11 with him and I've never stopped... 💯
.
.
Authentic personal expression is an act of resilience for me. It's also a testament to how far I've come from where I was before, and to what dreams may come as I carry onward toward my destiny. 🗡️
.
.
May what comes be better than what came before. It has been a beautiful journey and I give the utmost thanks for that. May Jah i-tinually guide my way and help me to release what and who no longer serves my spirit and soul...

So I'm neatly wrapping up this EP for ya! The songs are basically available as of right now (Online and VIA directly), but I'm packaging it up so I can offer it in its togetherness lol - an organized artistic idea I'm going for... I'll reveal more later.
