Superrr-blissed this year to engage in a dope music creation project with elementary youth, guiding them throughout this process and really stepping up in terms of mentorship, teaching, coaching, and my own creative capacity. 💯🙏🏽

I love working with youth. They get it. They're open to being silly (like meee 🙃) and fulljoying life as it comes - finding ways to create something from nothing and dream big! ❤️‍🔥

My Grandma has transitioned... it's been a few days now...

Edit: I was really close with her. As best as I could be... 🫡❤️ I'm broken up 💔 😭

She brought me up on this. She was awesome. I'm grateful for he legacy in my life, her grands and our rents - regardless of whatever came and went.

I feel like the pain is good when we work with it and not against the flow, hence - music and just breathing it all out...

She will always be my beautiful Grandma...rest in peace and farewell...*

Killed the set. I felt so 'outcome independent' yesterday, haha. I did what I wanted and felt how I felt; elated, joyful, like I was a teen again.

Don't ever give up on yourself, fam. Your dreams, your aspirations, the things that make you deeply joyful inside. I started rapping way back. Lupe has a style that I took to lyrically; Intellectual, high-level lyricism. 💯👑🙏🏾

Anyway, one of the greatest and one of the highlights for me this year. Question: it's been said that every rapper is approx. three artists blended together so to speak...

Since I turned 40, my brain changed. I feel different about life, certain ambitions, and overall connections. I feel more aware of what I'm seeking and releasing the need for the control, or the need to be satiated in every aspect of life. That's not how life works... and through it all, there's a delicate balance to be worked on...

ANYWAY! Lol, I have some things I'm ready to talk about and share with youuuuu. Kind of like a new path for me, but aligned nonetheless...stepping more into my power, it feels.

One night I was just chillin and thinking and I realized that what I once thought I'd never get over in a million-trillion years is but a fleeting memory of the past. Baring no hold over today nor tomorrow, esp now that I've done and i-tinue to do 'the work'

That sudden awareness shifted the tone, emoting with (authentically) freestyled lyrics that hit the pocket real nooice. Share with a friend who is ready to choose themselves over pain and attachment...*

What a month it's been eh? As a new one begins soon. Sending light to those in the in-between, between the liminal rather.

They say there's a calm bf the storm. As I grow, I see things from perspectives that I never have before. I feel this sense of fear or doubt ya, but I also feel a strong sense of Idgaf, too.

It's like the higher the levels the higher the dvls. Life is here now. Love it and live it while you can! Use your light for the greatness to be. It's up to you and me...

Captain's vlog: It's the day (insert exact timing here) since I've turned 40 years old. Have you turned that age yet or will you? How does it feel or did it feel for you? I felt a shift in things as the months passed by since...
.
.
I've felt this weird doubt over me. Like, I shouldn't wear the things I like to...maybe I should dress more 'appropriate'. Perhaps, I shouldn't be so 'loud': practice smaller, quieter...less intruding, less 'annoying' ppl with my creativity (and albeit, fun) **this doubt we'll call it impostoreeee (Gomez Voice)**
.
.
I've been seeing change in some young ones now older, acting like they're too cool for school at times (lol). I've also experienced deeply genuine instances of authentic homage from youth I've worked with in the past (like the teary eyed kind 🥹) - just varying ends of the spectrum, is what I mean.
.
.
I guess it's all feeling different because, well, it is. I'll never be this young again. I'll never be here in this mind frame at this frame of time. Things are meant to change and yet, all of the aforementioned 'downage' leads to roads of less joy, less...me.
.
.
I know there's a time for everything and deep down I know this is just A reason of the multi-million reasons why I shouldn't ever let go. Then things for me would be dull 👅 and everyone who needs this special spark 😉 in their life won't have it, BC I gave it up insteadah i-tinually going all in on this road of life...*

Since I was young I held back rivers and waterfalls. If I didn't, they would keep coming and coming - kinda like a leaky, broken faucet. It's like I cry for my people everyday. The people in my family, my friends, and especially for the world.
.
.
The 'Micheal' movie was inspiring although it heavily omitted his plight, all of the things he was fighting for and breaking free from. I feel that I am a different energy to my loved ones. I'm not perfect. I have it in me to burn everything down, too - but I'd rather burn down Babylon instead of my kin.
.
.
That's the hardest part of all of this. These choices we make that may break us, but perhaps allow for light to fill us up even more. Needless to say I am grateful for everything and everyone in my life, who has been there and those who have yet to come. My closest have been my greatest teachers, but once the student graduates.....
.
.
We keep moving forward - ah so it goes. Only Jah knows what comes next! All I know is brighter days are ahead if we believe. Like I said I'm not perfect, but who is - but just know it breaks my heart when I do fuck up, especially with the ppl I genuinely care about the most in this world...* 🙏🏾💯🙌🏾✨✨✨
