Earlier this year, at the beginning of March, @bambudepistola enlisted @et_iv, @fatgums, and myself to begin production work on a new album. The task was for us to create an album sampling only Filipino traditional instruments and meld it with a lot of low end. 7 months later, #bassbuilding is here!

This October, we announce ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson as our Hi-Fi listening session of the month.

Released on November 30th 1982, & marked as one of the most influential albums in music history. Produced by Quincy Jones, the album was created during a period when Jackson was transitioning from a successful child star (Jackson 5, The Jacksons) into a major solo artist. Thriller blends pop, R&B, funk, disco, and rock, creating a distinctive sound that combines catchy melodies, powerful vocals, rhythms, and innovative production. The album produced seven Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and won eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year, & still reigning as the best-selling album of all-time.

Beyond the music, Jackson combined Style, Dance, Video & Storytelling. Becoming one of the first black artists to have heavy rotation on MTV. Hiring legendary director John Landis for his 14 minute short film of the same title “Thriller”. Changing the landscape of media across the board, a complete cultural zeitgeist that changed the music industry forever.

There isn’t much to be said about this album that hasn’t already been said, this album is very dear to our hearts as to many of you as well. We will be listening to the album front-to-back on our Hi-Fi Sound System at the peak of our evening.

Alongside the album, the legendary @monalisa7872 & @djphatrick of @mom_la will be selecting all the necessary MJ cuts on-vinyl to get us ready for the album. We are honored to have them grace our decks once more. We also have a very special guest coming by that we can’t announce just yet.

Each ticket includes an exclusive album-inspired cocktail presented by @doloreslbc

We encourage Halloween Costumes as well, as this is peak spooky season. 🌙

Tickets will move fast & likely to sell out, act sooner then later! See you all soon.
