BASS BUILDING CHAT🔊 how are yall feeling?! I hope everyone had a fun time; finally feeling rested!

Still riding the high (&& salonpas) from the show & wanted to share & extend my gratitude to all who packed the mfn house at The Ford!!

To @thefordla, thank you for extending a space for the community to jump and vibe and for the art to speak for itself.

To @akbmedia.presents @beatrockmusic, @bambudepistola, for keeping the fire lit in me; witnessing something being built from a concept to the stage is inspiring. All of your talents are beyond measure. (PS. Always remembering my roots— MERCH CREW 5EVA!! Plus I couldn’t tag everybody in the pics— @misseseel @lynardlyn @jbayani @ailenewithit)

To all who blessed the stage, you all are literally, magic. Yall really did that 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it’s always a pleasure to work with yall but most of all, so much love & gratitude. My inner fan girl still screams inside.

To my fam, who have helped and been to the shows, thank you for being a part of this journey.

BASS BUILDING 10.10.26 🔊 It’s been a good 20 years or so since I first met @bambudepistola. I was just learning how to organize — Bam was one of the first people to teach me what it means to serve the people and organize for community. All these years later, and I’m still learning. Oh and it make me smile to be a little part of BASS BUILDING. 🙌🏽

I am so inspired by you, @faithsantilla. It’s the combination of your art and your ferocity as a person. Forever thankful that we are in each other’s corners, sis. ♥️

Shoutout to @kcb4eleven and @akbmedia.presents for producing BASS BUILDING. I also met Kat 20 or so years ago. She was the first pinay I ever saw taking on big projects/events. It inspired me. It still does! ✨

Some people just bring an energy that makes you listen and want to hear more. SHE IS HER. Not only did @gretchenbc_ kill it on the mic as host of BASS BUILDING, but she got up to vend for @brwngrlz at @filledmarket at 7am with the same energy. ✨

Will never not get lost backstage at The Ford. But it’s a great problem to keep having because it means my talented ass friends keep rocking the stage. ♥️

Forever one of my favorite emcees to do it @prometheusbrown 🙌🏽

I swear @ms_januarrrry is EVERYWHERE! She even rocked the afterparty and @filledmarket the next day. But there’s a reason why she’s everywhere — she’s simply THE best 💜

Gonna go ahead and speak on behalf of the people: WE ARE READY FOR AN IZZY ALBUM 👀

You ever just know you’re watching greatness in real time? Every single time I see sis rock the mic, I get chills @rubyibarra ♥️

From LA to the world: @theneighborhoodkidsmusic really are the future. And that gives me hope. They sa

First and foremost and last but not least, I’m just a fan.

Swipe ahead for a brief historical timeline between @beatrockmusic and my lore as The Greatest Filipino Rapper of All Time 💯

Remember this. @beatrockmusic has alwayz been and continues to be an impenetrable foundation not just for us as artists and people - not even just FilAms - but Hip Hop culture, grassroots organizing, and humanity in general.

Kuya Bam, congratulations on BASS BUILDING. You packed the damn house out in our beloved city of LA, and you did it with family. Blood and chosen. Thank you for your time, your art, and your unfiltered spirit to uplift and protect our people without ever compromising who you are. Had to pull up on you!! @bambudepistola

I originally planned to fly out just to watch like I did in 2024 for Ateh Ruby, but you’re right, we all knew that ain’t goin’ happen 🤣

Ateh Ruby, thanks for having me bless the stage once again with you. “PTI” and “Salbahe Ako” are the FilAm Hip Hop hits right now, and I’m going to run them all the way to the ground with you for as long as we possibly can. We locked in. @rubyibarra

Dreams to reality. The baby ain’t no baby no more, and we definitely held her up to hold her own on stage. The winner of the “PTI” challenge @rockyrivera @bambudepistola @rubyibarra @prometheusbrown

For those of y’all that asked if I was performing and was told “I’m just watching tonight, I’m a fan”, I was telling half the truth 🤞🏽😉

This was damn near a Beatrock and friends Anniversary concert lol

This has been such a special Filipino American History Month so far, both personally and professionally. Since we’ve been together, I truly believe that this was the best show I’ve ever seen @bambudepistola do. And like any partner, knowing all the ups and downs and still see the final execution end up being perfect as it was- not perfect as we planned, but because we all did it together- made it that much sweeter.

I have so much love for everyone that performed onstage and everyone in those seats that helped us do a SOLD OUT show at The Ford! What a momentous occasion to share with my fam!

Too lazy to write a long ass caption but to the Van Nuys housemates, THAT WAS SOOOO FUN!!! Let’s do it again soon!!! Photos by @beauryan

BASS BUILDING at The Ford - Act 2

TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON who took their hard earned money to purchase a ticket, made travel arrangements and celebrated with us at The Ford, I appreciate you beyond measure! When I looked out into the crowd I saw only familiar faces… I saw the faces of people who’ve been coming to my shows since I started, friends and family, comrades I’ve organized with forever, and most importantly: THEIR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN! The years have been more than kind to me, and this past Saturday proved it. 20+ years of doing this and we’re all still here — whether it was out in the crowd or with the ancestors on stage: WE AIN’T GOING NOWHERE!

Lastly, I have to give a gigantic shout out to someone who stepped in at the 25th hour and absolutely owned that stage — @gretchenbc_! In less than two sentences of me trying to convey the concept and the role she was now stepping in to play, she got it immediately. What a talented gem in our community! S/O to @fern_doe and @et_iv for pushing me to make sure she played a bigger role in BASS BUILDING! Also, thank you to @sammay.art for bringing the ancestors into the fray by opening the show with beautiful movement.

Now go listen to @beatrockmusic’s BASS BUILDING album on @bandcamp while we continue to sort this app shit out.

We SOLD OUT The Ford!
