A storm rolled in right before the ceremony, but that’s one thing I love about micro weddings. There’s a little more flexibility when things don’t go as planned, and once the skies cleared, everything was beautiful!

Choosing your wedding venue is such a big part of the planning process, and it really does shape your day in so many ways. From the lighting and the flow of the day to the overall feel of your photos, your venue makes a difference. As a photographer, I love seeing couples choose a place that feels true to them!

My first time at Pilot Mountain Vineyards for Ashlin and Hayden’s wedding, and it was such a fun one to photograph. I love getting to shoot at new venues and figure out the space as I go. There’s something really fun about finding new little spots, seeing things differently, and getting creative with whatever the day gives you. I don’t think you have to know a venue beforehand to make something beautiful there.

So grateful I got to be there for this one and capture such a sweet day for these two!

A refreshing reminder that sometimes, less really is more on your wedding day. 🤍

An intimate guest list, a private waterfront setting, and the sound of the water in the background created space for what mattered most — two becoming one family.

This is exactly why we love planning and coordinating micro-weddings along the North Carolina coast. There’s something so special about creating a day that feels intimate, intentional, and centered around the people you love most.
