Martin Crimp’s Cyrano de Bergerac
April 2024
Directed by Edith Podesta

I was the Assistant Stage Manager in the BA Acting students graduation show, coordinating with departments, wrote the rehearsal reports, set up the rehearsal room and preparing each scene before rehearsals with stand-in chairs

There were fun occasions when I stepped into actor’s blocking using a rewritten prompt copy on my own script and updated the actors. I kept the notes on my script and gave the updated blocking of the scene to the actor when they returned.

There were bouts of illness that made its way around the crew, at one point I was the only Stage Management Team around so I stepped out of behind stage during technical week and informed operators of cue locations, updated the prompt copy, and called in the actors for plotting from the dressing room at their respective times.

Brave Maeve
November 2023
Directed by Dwayne Lau

A child’s journey battling cancer adapted into a musical with colourful and vivid imagery that appeals to children as much as it dazzles adults. The largest scale of production I have done costumes for so far with over 153 sets of costumes, over 41 pairs of shoes, and about 25 wigs. The show featured heavy ensemble work and many quick changes for the cast of Lasalle Musical Theatre Year 2 and 3.

A lot of work went into making this show possible on a tight deadline and felt near impossible at times. I designed and fabricated the costumes working off of moodboards by the director and taught some of the Lasalle year 1 students to sew so they could assist in the process.

Addams Family
April 2023
Directed and Choreographed by Kaye Tuckerman

More photos of the process of Lasalle Musical Theatre graduation show. Our small construction team led by @runningwithducks_ taught us about frames and made them to speed up our build time exponentially, and trusted me to find the best way to make the brick texture with the limited time we had to build everything.

Pan Jinlian
Directed by Chen Gang

September 2023

An adaptation of a classical Chinese story from Water Margin, one of China’s four great classical novels. Practicing their learnt skills, the at-the-time Year 3 BA Acting students were challenged to learn and embody the Chinese Opera style to act, sing, dance and fight on stage.

My classmates and I similarly learnt how to support the production and adapt our skills to convey the inspiration and source material through different departments in creative and technical practice. As the Assistant Stage Manager I learnt from @samzy.jo how to properly apply the lessons taught to situations that popped up during the process, things like rehearsal reports and calls, schedules, scene breakdowns, and even a minor incident report. The time spent with and taking care of the Acting cohort was a wonderful experience and built relationships I continue to maintain.

August 2023

At the beginning of Year 2 of @lasalle.tpm we learnt scenic painting from @carlos_moral_reis Methods on how to transfer the image from reference page to panel. Our group chose a flat colour poster style to practice with a mix of block colours and details. We learnt along the way about painting from up to down and lighter to darker colours.

Makcik and Magic, a Dragons and Dungeons actual-play show performed for Theatre360!

12 May 2023

Through a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) set in Singapore, Makcik and Magic tells an interactive improvised story of a group of your everyday heroes investigating unknown supernatural cases disturbing local residents to keep both the people and the magic of the world safe.

Having followed the urban fantasy series I was honoured when I was approached to be a creative mediator and Stage Manager between the content of the show and the theatre crew. I cued lighting directions and audio special effects without a script or cue sheet as it was an improvised show, the story narrator reacting to the player’s decision live, and myself interpreting the storyteller and reading the mood of the scene to adjust lighting and sound.

March - April 2023
Construction crew and building team for the Addams's Family Musical, performed by @lasallesingapore Musical Theatre students, with sound, light, stage and set crew from @lasalle.tpm , with a few professionals in director, stage manager, sound design, light design and set design to help us achieve our best!

There were only a few of us building the whole set (1st pic) of a second story platform with railings, 6 sets of stairs, 6 flats of 6 metre height each, functional double doors and gate. We pushed through a couple rounds of covid to deliver.

I am very proud to say that I was the main contributor to the brick texture :D

First project completed at @lasalle.tpm , historical weapons. After workshop introduction and research guided by Marc Greensmith we were tasked to build our weapons entirely of plywood using the carpentry skills gained.

I made a Viking berserker axe and painted the Valkyrie wing look onto one of the faces.

September-December 2022 to research, design, plan, build and paint during school hours.
