Week 9 with my 4th set of twins!🤎🤎
I get to see them this week and I really just need to see the two heartbeats again and confirm everything is ok. I’ve been so tired in the mornings and have some other symptoms so hoping those are all good signs that things are going well.

I tried to contain the emotions I felt and not let myself feel anything but I was overtaken with fear and joy in this moment.

Now knowing this is actually two babies and not one has made me feel even more emotions and I’m trying so so hard not to worry. But it’s really hard.

I am SO excited for our 4th set of twins. I saw both of their heartbeats 1.5 weeks ago and go in next week to check on the babies again. Hoping so very much they are both growing well and everything will go fine this pregnancy.

After multiple losses we were so surprised and so happy to see TWO babies and two little heartbeats!

This is our 4th set of twins and I’m still just so shocked that this is my story. I’m so happy and so excited but also so nervous after multiple losses. Hoping so much we’ll get to hold both babies spring 2027!

I started teaching my one year old twin girls how to stay with me and walk next to the stroller prior to my second set of twin being born. They didnt always get it right or course but setting the expectation that “they needed to hold on and stay with mommy when we were out” from the beginning was very helpful for preparing them for when I had 4 under the age of 2 and would need them to listen and stay with me. by @downreddingtonlane

After our fourth baby was born, my husband decided he didn’t want any more children. Four years later got changed his heart and we got pregnant with what we thought was our fifth baby, but it turned out to be our fifth and six baby. 🤎

Biggest surprise of our entire marriage.
Such a blessing and a gift.

Every third week my fire fighter husband has a “hell week” as they call it in the fire department. I solo parent for over 100 hours by the time the week has ended. It’s hard sometimes but it’s all I’ve ever known in our marriage. I figured out from the beginning how to run my home on systems and routines that didn’t require Nathan being home. Last night about an hour before bed I took the kids up to the park for a change of pace and burn off some energy. Ended up being a really nice hour and a good way to break out of our normal routine for a bit.

Do you solo parent for long periods as well? by @downreddingtonlane

Fall is coming 🍁 by @downreddingtonlane

9 kids 17 years married 16 years as a firefighter wife.
Yes, I’ve learned how to get to church alone how to manage things solo and I can do it pretty well…

But just because I can do all of those things solo doesn’t mean that I don’t miss him. I wish he was with us every Sunday.

I used to get really upset about this but over the years and especially recently I’ve allow my perspective to change or I guess God has changed my heart and my perspective. Being married to a firefighter is such an honor. His job has forced me to grow and sanctify me many ways.

always so thankful for the Sundays he’s with me🤎 especially the ones like today where we got to ride to church together as a family. by @downreddingtonlane

Came across a comment section that had me 😭😭😭
All the twin moms saying they’d never wish twins on anyone.
I get that twins have hard moments but so do singles!
It hurt my heart so bad to see all the negative comments.
But honestly this is a narrative I see all the time online and I want to be the opposite voice for the twin mom community.

TWINS ARE AMAZING and it is not something to dread or fear or just survive.

So if you’re expecting twins or have twins and want to get away from the twin accounts that just speak about the hard or the negatives….this is your place 🤎

Send this to a twin mom who needs to hear that twins are blessing ☺️ by @downreddingtonlane

Outings can be as simple as a splash pad + park plus an iced coffee for mom🤎 ☀️ 💦

Reset the house before you leave. Pack the bags. Pack the water bottles. Set the expectations with the kids.

Go out with your kids and have fun making memories ☺️

This year, I decided to do something that I’ve never done before, but wish I had started from the very beginning.

My kids read a lot of books, but I’ve never created a specific reading list for them to finish by the end of the school year. This year, and going forward, I decided that I wanted to have a book list for each of my children that are reading chapter books that they need to finish by the end of the school year.

My seventh grader is an avid reader. She has read so many books, so I gave her a reading list with 30 books. My ninth grader got a list of 20 books, and my fifth grader got a list of 25 books.

Each month, I would like them to read two books minimum. I plan on taking them out to the local coffee shop when they finish reading their two books each month and having them tell me all about each of the stories and the characters and what their favorite parts were.

It’ll be a special time for us to connect, for me to hear what they’re learning from these stories, and what lessons they take away from them.

What book would you put on a must-read list for your kids? by @downreddingtonlane

Something that’s been on my heart to talk about since I came back from the hospital a few weeks ago 🤎 by @downreddingtonlane
