✨ Hot off the press…✨

I know it’s “just a leaflet” but to me, it’s so much more than that. 🤍

When I started putting this together, I had such a clear idea of how I wanted it to feel calm, warm, professional, compassionate and completely reflective of the space I want to create for every person who comes through my door.

I gave my designer all the thoughts that were floating around in my head, from the colours and fonts to the imagery, wording and overall feel and, she brought it all to life ✨ Massive shout out to my designer 💕

At the heart of my work is something very simple: our mind and body are not separate.

Whether you come to me for cupping, massage, psychological therapy or support with your overall wellbeing, I want you to feel that you have entered a space where you can simply BE.

No judgement. No pressure. No need to be anything other than yourself.

Just a safe, compassionate space where, for that little bit of time, you can switch off from the outside world and focus on YOU. 🤍

Bringing together my work as an HCPC Registered Health Psychologist and Cupping Practitioner, alongside psychological therapies, massage and holistic wellbeing, has been something I’ve put so much of myself into.

So yes… it might only be a leaflet.

But to me, it represents the heart of what Dr Arooj is all about. ✨

Integrating mind & body for lasting wellbeing.

I’m pleased to share that I am now listed on the British Psychological Society (BPS) Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS). All praise and thanks to God for this achievement.

As a Chartered Health Psychologist, this milestone reflects my continued commitment to ethical, reflective, and quality psychological practice.

Completing clinical supervision training has been an important step in supporting the next generation of trainee psychologists in developing their professional competence, confidence, and critical thinking.

Proud of my ethnic minority roots so I had to put my bilingual skills out there 🙏

I am now open to offering clinical/practice supervision to doctoral trainees and early career practitioners, particularly within Health Psychology, behaviour change, and integrative approaches to care.

If you are looking for a supportive, reflective, and collaborative supervisory space, please feel free to get in touch.

I have officially graduated from @glasgow_caledonian_university and all praise and thanks to God, although the journey has been long and challenging, I feel very blessed and grateful for every moment.

I want to thank my family, close friends and an extended thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout my research especially as I thoroughly enjoyed researching and amplifying the voices of ethnic minority communities in relation to woman’s health conditions.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate you all! 🎓✨🤍 taken in Glasgow Caledonian University by @dr.aroojakram

All praise and thanks to God for this journey that I embarked upon many many years ago, to become a Dr in Psychology.

I present my official logo as a qualified and certified HCPC Registered Health Psychologist.

Looking forward to being able to support communities and apply myself where I can. Again I want to thank those who have supported me along the way.

Would that be Miss or Mrs? … it’s Dr 👩🏽‍⚕️.

All praise and thanks to God, after many many years of studying, sleepless nights, gaining wrinkles, gaining weight, spinning, running, boxing, then losing weight, with many laughs and tears along the way..

I have finally managed to pass all the modules required to achieve my Doctorate in Health Psychology 🧠👩🏽‍⚕️

I couldn’t have done it without my beautiful mother, sister, CLOSE friends, and university supervisors… and finally for those who thought a Muslim woman in this day and age would never make it.. sorry not sorry to disappoint you. by @dr.aroojakram

Thank you to @drjolel for giving me the wonderful opportunity to speak at the University of Westminster around my journey as a health psychologist trainee, and into the field of Health Psychology. I was really humbled that MSc Health Psychology students were interested in the facilitators and barriers of my journey, and asked many interesting questions around my coping strategies and placement experiences in Addiction.

I was excited to share a piece of my research that I have currently been working on around Uterine Fibroids, and the lives experiences of Black and White women experiencing the distress around this condition.

As a Health Psychologist trainee, it was such an honour and pleasure to be invited to collaborate with my fellow Counselling Psychologist trainee @suzy_klein to co-facilitate a workshop on Pacing and Self-care. Self-care is often a topic which is talked about and is very challenging to incorporate into our daily lives. It was an experience to have shared Health Psychology knowledge today at the Glasgow Caledonian University mini-conference.

I have been training alongside Suzy for many years and her wealth of knowledge is commendable. A massive congratulations to my colleague @rebeccatoptas for winning first prize on her presentation regarding working in prisons as a Counselling Psychologist trainee. Another fantastic achievement at a training stage. Thank you to @drjansmith for representing the Health Psychology domain. After many years of lectures with Jan, I can finally say I am proud to be training and sharing being in the Health Psychology domain with her and advocating to support others. by @dr.aroojakram

I am really pleased that I was given the opportunity to amplify voices for Black Asian Minority Ethnic Women on TV. Since the start of my research journey over the last few years, I have been researching the topic of infertility and furthermore women’s health conditions impacting infertility. I am truly honoured and humbled that @ellinorknoxborn gave me the opportunity to share parts of my research with the SVT Swedish TV channel. This is small snippet of an interview I was asked to do to represent ethnic minority women encountering infertility and the distress around this important topic.

I am ever so grateful to my supervisor @drjansmith who has been extremely supportive in helping bring my thoughts and ideas to reality in my ongoing academic journey. I could not have achieved my goals in this research without your guidance!
Of course an extended thank you to the Glasgow Caledonian University Media and Applied Psychology department for the ongoing training.
Finally to my beautiful mother and sisters @uzy.sa @shazeaa_j for believing in me. To my fellow trainees around me and friends around me, your encouragement and support has been incredible. My love and prayers are always for you all 💞
Here’s to achieving my final research this year focusing on Uterine Fibroids amongst Black and White women with the continuous support from @guidancesuite and the lovely ladies for always encouraging me to keep putting the work in!
