Never in a million years did I think I would be the expert dentist on a national @sensodyneus Pronamel commercial but God manifested it. This is a major win for people all over the country, especially little black and brown boys and girls in the hood, to see that it’s possible to overcome your adversities and bring your dreams to life. When I was younger, I’d never seen a black dentist but this commercial will ensure many that we are capable of excellence and we do exist. It’s bigger than me. I remember seeing dentists on these commercials in Harrisburg, Pa, and thinking it must be cool to be the dentist to represent such a great product. So many people around the country have seen it and reached out to show love. One friend even saw it at a movie theatre (last video). It’s still surreal to see myself on tv but I’ve fortunately overcome imposter syndrome a long time ago. Thank you @haleon for choosing me to represent your new product, Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength. I’m honored beyond words. taken in New York, New York by @dr.cblack

SmileSpace is officially 3 years old! The business started during the pandemic, but we’ve quickly grown to be the #1 dental practice in Brooklyn with 610 5-star reviews on Google. We’ve treated close to 4500 people and provided them with top quality care. We have literally changed lives! The business has been able to bless 16 staff members and their families. Special shout out to the associate doctors who maintain the office when I’m not there: Drs. Mary, Lee, Otto, and Andrews. Extra special shout out to my regional manager, Diana, who has been with me since its inception. I still can’t believe this idea that I had a few years ago has blossomed into something far more incredible than I ever imaged. What’s even more amazing is that we’re about to do it again in a few weeks in the Harlem location! Getting fired twice during my first year as a doctor was the best thing that ever happened to me. Thank God.

Happy 6th anniversary, SmileSpace!🎉

In December 2019, I signed the lease for what would become SmileSpace. A few months later, the world shut down. I was locked into a lease, facing delays at every turn, and building a business in the middle of a pandemic, with no clear sense of when or whether we’d open.

On October 12, 2020, we opened our doors.

Six years later, I’m still in awe of what this has become. We started as a team of 2 @dental_consultantnyc . Today we’re a team of 35; 7 associate doctors, 9 hygienists, and many clinical and admin staff members. We serve our communities in Clinton Hill and Harlem, and Boerum Hill opens in just a few months. The impact we’ve had on the people we serve has been bigger than anything I imagined on that first day.

SmileSpace is proof that the odds can be stacked against you and you can still come out on the other side, if you keep your faith and keep going.

Being a CEO is hard. Every day brings challenges, wins, and losses. But it is so rewarding. And I get to do it alongside an incredible team of good-hearted people. What more could I ask for?

To our staff, our patients, our friends, and our family: thank you. Every one of you helped get us here, and you keep pushing us to the next level.

Here’s what happens when you combine AI with an incredible toothbrush. 🦷✨ The new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Prestige 9900 gives real-time feedback and AI-powered guidance, showing you where you missed and whether you’re pressing too hard. It has a ton of other amazing features! It’s the between-visit help I’ve always wanted for my patients.

Harrisburg stand up! @melbasharlem invited me so I had to pull up to meet @asaprocky We had a dope conversation about the years he spent in Harrisburg, PA (my hometown) during his adolescence. He had fond memories of the city and gave respect to how it helped shape his formative years. We talked about different parts of the city he lived in, memories at Dorney Park, and his time at Harrisburg High School (the High). We also share a mutual close friend that I was able to reconnect him with. Crazy small world. He mentioned he’s grateful for the work I’m doing @smilespacenyc to help his community in Harlem. It felt like I was talking to one of my brothers. Thank you, my friend/ family, Melba for making it happen. 🙏🏾 #harlem taken in Melba's Restaurant by @dr.cblack

My sister @melbasharlem and I always have the best moments. Ran into my Pitt friend @callmechanning after 16 years and she came out with us! Also met this dope designer couple from Chicago!

Always great to see my brother @drsampsondavis , one the @threedoctors that wrote the book, The Pact, which inspired me and my siblings to become healthcare providers. taken in Harlem by @dr.cblack
