Disappearing doesn't happen all at once.
It happens in the small moments. The small compromises. The small decisions to put yourself last — just this once...
Until one day, you look up and genuinely can't remember the last time you felt like yourself - what you liked, what brought you joy, when you last prioritized your needs.

If any of these landed — I built something for exactly that moment.

Free quiz. Three minutes. Link in bio.

Okay… I’m still riding this wave and not even a little bit sorry. 😊

Last week, I was at the Bruno Mars concert with some incredible women and I cannot stop thinking about how good it felt to just... be myself. No pretense. All fun.

Not anybody’s mom. Not anybody’s psychologist. Just me.

A friend. A music lover. A laugh with all my teeth showing kind of woman.

That feeling of remembering all the parts of yourself you’ve been too busy to visit?

Not a luxury. That’s the whole point.

That’s The ReEmergence Project. 💛

— Dr. Dana 😊

Let me know in the comments — when was the last time you felt completely like yourself? Not mom. Not partner. Not caretaker. Just you. 👇🏽

Three innocent lives lost. A mother on trial. And a jury that can’t reach a unanimous decision.

I’m not surprised.

Because what happened in that home cannot be understood without understanding maternal mental health — and most people don’t.

The research tells us 1 in 5 mothers experience a maternal mental health disorder. Less than 20% are ever screened. And over 60% who sought help felt judged for it.

We owe this tragedy more than theories and outrage.

We owe it understanding.

Link to the full research in the comments.

I’ve been working A LOT. Work keeps me busy and moving, school started, and I’m trying to help my household run smoothly.

I thought Dallas would be a quick fly-in, fly-out. But I got a text from a dear friend. Instead of texting back, I picked up the phone and actually called her. We talked for over an hour. She picked me up from the airport and we detoured to her house. Her husband, also my dear friend, was there and we surprised him and their son. People I hadn’t spent time with them like that in like 14 years. It felt like I’d never left.

We talked about religion, motherhood, shopping, goals — all the things. I didn’t get to my hotel until midnight! Exhausted. But filled.

Next early morning, I got to the set with my Wondr Health people and we laughed our way through scripts, building tools that actually help people change their lives.

And I realized something: I’m making an impact even when I’m running on fumes.

What fills my cup isn’t just the work I do or the goals I chase. It’s the people I love and who love me back. It’s remembering that my friend is a mother AND a friend AND a faith-filled woman AND so much more than what you see when she’s walking down the street.

It’s doing work that means something with people who mean something.

That’s what ReEmerging is about.
That is what The ReEmergence Project is all about.

The ReEmergence Project is NOW OPEN for enrollment. Comment below if you want more info.

Today is about couples therapy.
It works.
It helps.
It supports.

It isn’t just recommended for couples who are on the brink of breakup, but for those who want to strengthen their connection, learn the tools to communicate more effectively, recognize and understand their partner’s needs, explore intimacy in more.

Couples therapy is a strength-builder, not always the last nail in the coffin. Make use of it and find a skilled and licensed therapist to help you strengthen your relationship.

Moms, we do our best. We make mistakes. We often hold ourselves to ridiculously high standards.

But mainly, we are human and deserving of the grace we often extend to others.

Sometimes, grace seems hard to come by when we are inundated with self-criticism and shame. That is when we need it most.

Be kind to yourself and accept that you’re only human and doing the best you can in this very moment.

My girl, Chastity @cchasebug, invited me to join her table for Summer Nights at Dooky Chase with a group of fantastic women and Don😎 and beautiful jazz from Heritage School of Music.

If you know New Orleans, you know what that means. History lives in those walls and on them.

Dooky and Leah Chase built something sacred there — a place where people gathered, where community was fed, where resistance was woven into every dish. Grandson Dook, great-granddaughter Zoe, and their families continue that tradition.

Being here is showing up for connection. Creating space for community. Remembering that you matter enough to take a Thursday night for yourself in a place built by people who knew their own worth.

This is how you feel alive, how you remember who you are, and why you matter.

With people who see you.

I just mowed and manicured my entire lawn. Yep…covered in grass clippings. I look a whole hot mess, but I feel really good right now.

I enjoy doing the work myself. The getting dirty and getting my heart rate up. Maybe it’s because I would see my dad out there in the yard and he’d say, “Dana, this is how you edge.” Maybe it’s about me feeling that connection and knowing I’m doing it myself (with some help from my boys😉).

It’s also about showing up in my own space…not waiting for someone else to do it for me.

And about remembering that taking care of yourself doesn’t look just one way.

It doesn’t always look like bubble baths or meditation. It could look like dirt under your toenails and fingernails and sweat and “I did that.”

Sometimes it looks like reminding yourself that you’re capable of literally anything. That feeling good doesn’t require permission or a certain “look”.

It just requires you to show up for you.
