“I often show more mature patients but here is a younger lady I treated at my clinic with facial recontouring with hyaluronic acid. Weight loss and genetics are some of the factors other than ageing, that can contribute to a more tired appearance. As with almost all my treatments, I addressed multiple areas including the temples, preauricular (area just in front of the lower ear), medial cheek and tear trough, piriform fossa (the dip near the nostril) and chin. Each area had the most minimal amount; as always it is about creating tens of individually covert adjustments that cumulatively give the result you can see. Subtle but significant. There is some further balancing I wish to do on one side of the face but this can be done in due course with just a few drops.” Dr Dev

Which skincare ingredients get me excited? 👀

Growth factors, copper tripeptide-1 and HPR are among my personal favourites. But when I’m developing a formula, I’m looking beyond the headline actives.

The form of an ingredient, how it’s delivered and the supporting ingredients matter too. My focus? Thoughtful formulations with tolerability in mind.

Just a few moments from a fast-paced and incredible 48 hours in Toronto last week. Thank you to @plasmatology_group for the gracious invitation to speak at their annual summit.

My schedule was meticulously handled (special thanks to Clarissa and June!), my hosts could not have been any warmer, and the attendees were impressively engaged right till when it finished at 2230! Every aspect of the summit was superbly organised.

Day 2 was a workshop led by one of the pioneers of ‘Soft Surgery’ @sotiris.tsioumas and again, the hunger for knowledge from the attendees was evident; I was sharing tips and tricks right until I got dropped off to the airport!

Thanks to Kim and all, for making my first trip to Canada 🇨🇦 such a memorable one but the next visit must be longer!

Day five after NeoGen, and my skin is feeling almost back to normal. There are still a couple of small areas peeling, but overall, my complexion is looking fresh and glowing.

I’m already really happy with my skin quality thanks to my skincare routine. My main reason for having NeoGen was to address skin laxity, while also supporting improvements in texture and tone. I’m looking forward to seeing how my skin continues to settle and change over time.

GF5 and Stress Defence have been my go-to duo throughout recovery, helping keep my skin feeling comfortable and hydrated.

Patients need patience. Especially with skincare.

If you keep switching products because you’re not seeing a change straight away, you may be giving up before they’ve had time to work.

Think weeks and months. Follow the plan, don’t overuse your products, and keep in touch with your practitioner.

And remember, not noticing an improvement doesn’t necessarily mean there hasn’t been one. Gradual changes can be easy to miss when you see your face every day.

If you’re still not seeing progress after a few months, review the plan with your practitioner.

Before you get into the treatment chair, ask yourself: have I actually had a proper consultation?

A few minutes chatting about what you want, followed by a quick mention of bruising and swelling, is nowhere near enough.

You should understand what’s being proposed, why it’s suitable for you, the risks, the alternatives and what happens if something goes wrong.

For first timers, particularly with fillers, I generally recommend a consultation on a separate day. You need time to think, ask questions and make an informed decision.

If those conversations aren’t happening, that’s a big red flag. 🚩 Don’t get in the chair.
