We Are Not Alone.

Let this one wash over you. Let it be meditative. It gets me emotional every time. I’m so grateful to the beautiful humans in the @temc.toronto choir and @drelainechoi for this gift. I need to keep this in front of me and remember. We are not alone.

✨ Whether you’re hearing 上海灘 (The Bund) for the first time or the first time in years, this melody still lands right in the chest.

Babεl brings this iconic 80s Cantonese classic to life with warmth, control, and a deep sense of storytelling. The arrangement by Cherie Chai gives space to nostalgia without freezing it in time, it breathes, moves, and feels very now.
Conducted by Elaine Choi, this performance shows how a choir can carry cultural memory while making it feel personal, even if this isn’t part of your own background.
Did this song unlock a memory for you, or was this your first time hearing it?

The end of summer has never felt better! We spent our annual retreat and first rehearsal reconnecting with our choir mates, meeting new members, and exploring some of this year's exciting repertoire! #PaxChristiChorale #TorontoChoir #NewChoralSeason by @drelainechoi

✨ A few reflections from Benjamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church this past April as guests with the Pax Christi Chorale under the direction of Elaine Choi, as part of a large collaborative performance! @drelainechoi @paxchristichorale

We shared the stage with incredible musicians, young singers, and instrumentalists to bring Britten’s vivid storytelling to life.

Experiences like these are such an important part of YVT: learning alongside professional artists, hearing large-scale repertoire come together, and being part of something much bigger than themselves 💙🎶

✏️Kids from ages 4-18 can join YVT this fall and have opportunities like this! Check out the link in our bio to find out more!

💛Thank you to Pax Christi Chorale for welcoming our singers into this memorable performance - and to @dragonfly.imagery for capturing these beautiful moments. taken in Toronto, Ontario by @drelainechoi

💐 We want to give a *BIG THANK-YOU* to everyone who made Choir Camp such a special event this summer.

🌟 A very important part of Choir Camp is Dr. Elaine Choi.

📸 Elaine is pictured in this photo with members of babεl Chorus at our Peterborough camp. The top row from left to right is Kento, Daniel, Mishaal, Briony, and Andy. The bottom row from left to right is Cecilia, Elaine, Agnes, and Hannah.

What did Elaine do at Choir Camp this summer?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Elaine co-conducted and co-accompanied our mass choir with Dr. Mark Ramsay (Peterborough and Owen Sound camps)

🌏 She conducted babεl Chorus and moderated their workshop on Asian and Asian-Canadian choral music (Peterborough camp)

🎤 She accompanied and sang along with Choir Camp participant Christine Lau performing a traditional Chinese song at the talent show (Peterborough camp)

🎶 Throughout both weeks in Peterborough and Owen Sound, Elaine encouraged and motivated all of our singers with positivity and joy. She guided and channeled our many voices to sing as one. She taught and coached us to sing better and to express ourselves through song. She is the loving heart ❤️ at the centre of Choir Camp.

🙏 Thank you, Elaine, for giving so much of yourself so all of us can sing together and share the joy of making music in such a beautiful way! by @drelainechoi
