Been a while since I waded a trout stream in the dark. It’s a pretty neat experience mixed with a hint of spookiness to be wading through the water in the pitch black while hearing critters moving around on the banks above you. Headlamps are nice, but unfortunately bugs are rather fond of them also… 🦟

Caught this unique brown this morning. I’ve seen hunchback walleye before, but never a hunchback trout.

Something special about watching a big inland trout crush a spinner at your feet. Haven’t been doing much trout fishing this summer, but this was a highlight of my season. Hope you fellow trout bums had a good year in the streams!

Super rewarding catching fish in Alaska on my custom spinners. This Arctic Char bit this orange spinner downstream of a big king salmon thinking it was eggs. Can you spot the king in the Live Photo? 👀 taken in Alaska by @driftlessspins

They look beautiful when swimming away, but also taste beautiful when smoked…

Float Tube Brookies | A Backwoods Beaver Pond Adventure.

I ended up a blue-green algae rash (similar to swimmers itch) on my legs after this summer outing from floating around in the pond scum, but I’d it was absolutely worth it. by @driftlessspins

Shout out to @benbrownson_715 for being the first angler to ever catch themselves with a @driftlessspins (impressive) and letting me practice my hook removal skills.

Driftless Brookies ❤️
Growing up in northern Wisconsin, brook trout were the dominant species and it was always rare and special to catch a brown. Down here it seems the opposite.

Small stream browns. I never get sick of watching them swim away.

The spring season has been a busy one. Between turkey season, walleye fishing, and that thing called work I honestly haven’t gotten much trout fishing in, but this recent outing was a beautiful one with many nice brown trout landed. Thanks for everyone’s patience on orders. Haven’t been advertising much as I don’t have much time to build them, but once summer begins I can get caught up on some orders.
