Been a while since I waded a trout stream in the dark. It’s a pretty neat experience mixed with a hint of spookiness to be wading through the water in the pitch black while hearing critters moving around on the banks above you. Headlamps are nice, but unfortunately bugs are rather fond of them also… 🦟

Caught this unique brown this morning. I’ve seen hunchback walleye before, but never a hunchback trout.

They look beautiful when swimming away, but also taste beautiful when smoked…

Spring weekends like this one are hard to beat. Feeling grateful for all the woods have to offer, and that I have family and friends who share the same passions that I do 🙏

This stream always makes me say WOW regardless if I catch a fish or not.

Had a fun time exploring some new streams on Easter weekend. With bright sun, letting the spinner sink to the bottom of the pools and using a slower retrieve was the ticket. Also hiding from the trout by blending in with my @onelastcastgear trout hoodie helped!
