MISSION ACCOMPLISHED- On 444am June 1 I reached the summit of Everest again from the Nepal side via the Southeast Ridge route with my dear friend, fellow mountaineer, and client / climber in residence @mikeposner . The sunrise from the top of the world was special, it made me realize once again that the past 20 months of this journey since I first met Mike and was given the privilege to coach him, work with him,and prepare him to help make his dream a reality was a true blessing and adventure I’ll always be grateful for. He basically worked on his craft for 20 months all for a shot at a mere 20 minutes on the summit. What a real sacrifice! But over the past nearly two years I also got to see why and how he is such an incredibly talented world class musician. He applied that world class work ethic and never wavered in his preparation and desire to dream and also dedicate himself to being the best mountaineer he could be. He fully immerses himself in his dreams and goals and never stops working at it. This is a valuable lesson we can all take with us as expedition was especially challenging yet Mike was always #everestready -We waited for two tropical cyclones to pass, and when they finally did, most people had quit and gone home. What I learned on this expedition and during my time working with Mike was that his famous slogan #keepgoing is so very true. Even when we could have quit and gone home like Many others, we went up the mountain again, this time in deeper snow than before. But the most important lesson is that we listened to the mountain, and when the storms cleared mighty Sagarmatha let us in for awhile (8 days on the mountain during the summit push). I’m super grateful for the lack of drama, real raw challenge, and depth that an expedition like this can do for each person that gives everything to settle in for the journey. In the coming days there will be a lot to process, I’ll be writing a lot and retelling the story here and on my website blog. ALL MY RELATIONSHIPS in 2026 will be EVEN MORE INTENTIONAL AND HERE IS WHY 💥 : TIME is TOO VALUABLE and it’s ok to be picky. A few months ago I appeared on the @oprahpodcast with Oprah Winfrey and Jillian Turecki to pose the question about being more intentional in relationships. While my questions and our discussions pertained to me specifically finding someone that fits into my lifestyle (who is also not normal 🤪) and genuinely getting to know somebody, Our discussions were actually a good lesson for us all as we get into 2026. Time is the most valuable resource we have, and with the time we have left on this planet, who do we choose to spend it with, and how do we get the most out of our relationships, personally, and professionally? Furthermore “Our relationships determine our happiness in life”. To be more intentional in 2026, I’ve taken a whole new approach with saying “no” even more than I do saying “yes” and this applies to all relationships for sure, not just the ones we have with a partner or spouse. In 2026, I’m looking for someone who I can really get to know, and who is open to all the vulnerable things that go with it, and who wants to do some really cool awesome adventures in 2026. BTW- currently taking applications 😂 😜🌎 💥. How are you approaching your 2026 in regards to this and your busy professional and personal lives? KODIAK UTMB 100K 🏔️💥🏃‍♂️ @utmbworldseries

Another finish line. Another reminder of how lucky I am to have a body that can still push, endure, and take me on these adventures. 🙏

Big gratitude for an awesome race experience in Big Bear Lake, CA — huge thanks to race directors Suzy and Herald for the incredible hospitality, to all the fellow ultra runners I shared a mile (or a few!) with along the way, and to Mother Nature for giving us some decent weather before Hurricane Rachel rolled in! 🌧️

The results? 129th out of 550 runners — top 27% of the field and 16th in my division! 💪 🏃‍♂️

But the bigger win? 6 UTMB Running Stones in the bank! 🎲🔥 Every stone helps improve my chances in the draw for the 2027 UTMB 100M World Championships. That’s the bigger goal, and we’re stacking the odds one race at a time!

At the end of the day, it’s about the people, the places, the challenge, and never taking for granted the ability to get out there and test yourself.

Grateful for the miles. Grateful for the community. And grateful this body still wants to GO! 🙌

Onward to the next adventure! 🏔️⚡️

FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITHOUT A SHOWER 🚿 🧼 🏔️
That is just one of the less glamorous realities of the historic 2021 K2 Winter Expedition.

With the release of “The Last First: Winter K2” on @appletv today, I am looking back at my time on the world’s second-highest mountain. I went to Pakistan to support my dear friend @colinobrady. I expected the cold, but -30°F nights at 16,000’ in basecamp is a chill that sinks directly into your bones. Despite the brutal conditions, I am incredibly proud to have completed two rotations and pushed up to Camp 2 for acclimatization in late January.

But mountains require intuition just as much as endurance. Moving above the start of the ropes toward Camps 1 and 2 during the mass summit push, my gut told me something was wrong. The weather forecast pushed far past my acceptable level of risk, and the bottleneck of climbers heading up felt like a recipe for disaster. I have always prided myself on being the voice of reason in the mountains, so I made the hard call to turn back to basecamp and support Colin and sherpa Ming Temba over the radio.

What transpired next was heartbreaking. Four men tragically lost their lives. Three were frozen to the rope and never came back. Up at 23,000’ at Camp 3, Colin survived a brutal night trapped in a single tent with 8-10 other climbers due to the poor planning of teams who failed to bring their own shelters.

@amirhbarlev has put together a genuinely wonderful film about this expedition. I am deeply grateful to have contributed a fair amount of the footage used in the documentary, along with off-camera insights from my interviews with the directors. While my on-camera presence ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor, and I overall was erased from the film- this post is my way of honoring my own journey.

I was there. I lived through the tragedies that unfolded, I put my life on the line, and I walked away because I listened when the mountain said no.

Go watch the film. It is a powerful piece of storytelling, and I have nothing but gratitude for the experience. I hope to work with Amir in the future to tell even more stories from the high peaks.

13.3miles and 8000’ vertical gain 🔨
#1 in my age group - #69 overall out of 1568.

This was a fun one. A testament to all my “Everest Ready” training and lifestyle. While I’ll never be able to keep up with the Elite Pro’s and Olympians in this race (like @joegeezi and @camfromcb ) it felt great to run and push and do what I do best in the mountains- have a blast! Super grateful for all the awesome people who supported me in this race - especially Audrey and Hilly GOAT 🐐 you were both amazing in pushing me to the top!
