To say it’s life changing may be a stretch… but it’s certainly meal changing! Eggs without salsa macha, whaaaaat! Not even a thing anymore! Slap it on everything… cabbagey eggs, cheese and crumpets, bananas on toast, yoghurt and other lovely bits, liver and potatoes, aaaaand, one of my all time faves, a stupendous suggestion from @shannonmeritbadger, on peanut butter on toast. Y.U.M 😋😋😋 So I slap it on top of my all time fave ‘rugged’ from @butterbikeco

It all started with a spud! 🥔

After acquiring the spud, I collected some lovely bits and bobs from the garden, made some holes in the 🥔 and poked the bits and bobs into it. Quite pleased! Cost me about 50p, for the 🥔

Who says we live in a cultural desert?? Foolish folk!

In the last 10 days I’ve seen the screening of a @nationaltheatre stage show at Scott’s cinema in Barnstaple, Prima Facie with @jodiemcomer (beyond brilliant)…

I’ve seen an outdoor performance of A Comedy of Errors, performed against a sunset backdrop and sea view by the fantastic @threeinchfools (also beyond brilliant, an extremely talented and very funny bunch), organised by @ploughartscentre…

I visited the @appledorebookfestival where I enjoyed seeing @jeremyvine interview Benji Waterhouse @doctor_benjis, dare I day, also beyond brilliant and unexpectedly funny….

Aaaaand I had an unexpected cuddle* with Patrick Grant @patrickgrantism (of @britishsewingbee, @community_clothing and other fabulous things) 😁😁😁

And and and I managed to get tickets to see @simon_reeve in Barnstaple next year. My bucket floweth over! 🤩🥳❤️

North Devon rocks! 🤘🏻

*didn’t see his talk as sold out (I peeped through the tent to get a glimpse), but worked out well as I’d have missed the cuddle if I’d seen the talk 🙌🏻 He looks happy with how things worked out 😆 taken in North Devon by @drviced

Our food adventures continued when we pottered along to @moules.co for… well, moules! Not only did we find 3 delicious varieties of moules on offer, we also found these two lovelies who were trying to not look scary 😂 and doing a grand job of it - big smiles all round 😁 great tunes too - we tapped our toes to a bit of C&W Beyoncé styleee whilst we tucked in.

Never mind the cocktails… can we talk about that door handle! And the cheesecake. Oh my goodness, the cheesecake! 🤩 And the cute clientele 😉 And the menu, the vibe, the friendly folk serving up delicious food, the smiley chef… all of it… tip top! 🙏🏻🙌🏻❤️

Loved our visit to @counterculture_newquay where the food is inspired by the chefs time in San Sebastián. Last week my beautiful niece had her birthday. Every year on her special day out comes the photo of the time she did a charity sky dive and had a ‘nose malfunction’ that resulted in a strong resemblance to the rather frightening proprietor of Royston Vasey’s ‘local shop for local people’ 😂😂

Thankfully she loved this little creation, but I did have to explain the League of Gentlemen 🤪 felt like an old fart 🙄😆

Evidence that the nose malfunction was temporary, and that there is no resemblance to any scary old ladies, can be seen in the last pic 🤩🙏🏻❤️

It’s okay Liv @__livmh I realise it will be hurriedly pulled out of a drawer and put on show when your Aunty Vic is popping in for a cup of tea 😆😆

I made crisps. Real actual crisps. They were very crispy! 😋 Thank goodness for the mandolin for very quick and easy thin slices. The spuds were grown in Croyde by our friend Simon Tanner 🙌🏻

Exciting day yesterday with @asitwas, we photographed what turned out to be a really rare bird! Only when I looked in the bird books to find it did I see that it’s not typically spotted in the UK, and therefore very rare. It’s a Collared Pratincole. T’internet tells me there have been only 77 recorded sitings in UK up until 2019. This is possibly number 78! It appears on several rare bird websites. I feel honoured and privileged it allowed us to have got piccies. For the record - We were actually pretty distant from it, we were very respectful 😁
