Laura and her partner John have endured a series of devastating losses in recent years, beginning with the death of their daughter, Emilia, who was born at 20 weeks in November 2023. Just six months later, they lost their son, Harrison, who was born alive at 22 weeks and died after just two precious hours. They then experienced further heartbreak when Laura suffered a missed miscarriage in 2025.

At EACH, bereavement support is a vital part of the care we provide. We know that grief is deeply personal, and there is no one way to navigate it. That’s why our support can take many forms, including music therapy, art therapy, counselling, bereavement support groups and coffee mornings.

This week (9th-15th October) is Baby Loss Awareness Week. This is a special opportunity to remember and commemorate much-loved and missed babies.

As an organisation, we will be:
💜 Raising awareness of pregnancy and baby loss by sharing a new powerful film
💜 Giving space to hear about the ways in which caregivers may remember and connect with their loved one
💜 Hosting our own in-person events for bereaved families supported by EACH
💜 Using our platforms to talk about the importance of bereavement support in the ongoing grief journey
💜 and more!

Four-year-old Libby is a real social butterfly. She loves meeting people, making new friends and getting involved in activities, but living with complex disabilities can make family outings more challenging.

Libby receives care and support at The Nook, where she has the chance to be herself, enjoy specialist activities, make new friends and have fun in an inclusive environment designed to meet her needs.

Libby's family also receives support through our Help at Home service, where a volunteer visits their home to help with practical tasks such as cleaning, tidying, ironing and gardening. This extra support gives the family more time to focus on what matters most: spending precious time together.

Our hospices provide more than just end of life care. They help families spend precious time together, create happy memories and enjoy moments of normality in a safe and supportive environment. 💜

Our first-ever Treehouse Hoedown did exactly that, bringing families together for an evening of laughter, dancing and connection. Children, siblings, parents and carers had the chance to relax, have fun and make lasting memories together.

The rest comes from our incredible community through donations, fundraising, charitable trusts, gifts in Wills, and our shops and online sales.

To mark the start of Hospice Care Week, we wanted to share a special film about TreeTots, our baby and toddler group for families supported by EACH. 🧡

TreeTots is a place where little moments mean everything. It gives babies and toddlers the chance to have fun, play and spend quality time with their families, while parents and carers can meet other families in a similar situation. It’s more than a baby and toddler group. For many families, it can be a lifeline.

In this special film, you’ll hear first-hand what the group means to our families.

Because hospice care is about more than end-of-life care.

On 15th October, we will be taking part in the Wave of Light as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Should you wish to, we invite you to join us by lighting a candle at 7pm as we unite with others across the globe to remember and commemorate much-loved and missed babies.

Throughout the week (9th-15th October) we’ll also be raising awareness of pregnancy and baby loss by sharing stories from families and highlighting the importance of bereavement support in the ongoing grief journey.
