As I begin my term as President of EADV, it is a great honour to serve our Academy and to build on the vision and work that have shaped EADV over the years, while looking ahead to the future.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof Branka Marinović @branka_marinovic_ for her leadership, guidance and advice, which I will carry with me as I begin this new chapter.

Our Academy continues to evolve, and I believe that the next generation has a central role to play in shaping the future of dermatology and venereology. My aim is to help pave the way for young dermatologists and venereologists, creating opportunities to learn, contribute, lead and bring new ideas to our field.

I am also delighted to welcome Prof Carmen Salavastru as EADV President-Elect @carmen.salavastru. I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to strengthen our Academy and prepare for the future.

I look forward to working with the entire EADV community and beginning this new chapter together.

A very promising conversation about management of glomuvenous malformations. ✨

Supporting resident doctors is a key part of EADV. At this year’s Congress, I caught up with Hagar Elgezeri, a foundation doctor at Cairo University Hospital, to hear about her poster exploring combined pulsed dye laser (PDL) and Nd:YAG treatment in the management of glomuvenous malformations.

These vascular malformations can be painful and challenging to treat, particularly when multiple or extensive. This case series showed encouraging results, opening up discussion about the potential of this combined approach.

Watch Hagar explain her findings, and why this approach deserves further investigation.
