A 70-year-old woman presents with a >10-year history of a slowly enlarging pigmented lesion on the right abdominal flank.

Recently, the central area became raised and started bleeding spontaneously.

⚠️ Rare inflammatory reactions can overlap in complex haematologic treatments.

A case report by Grafanaki et al. describes a unique case of overlapping differentiation syndrome (DS) and Sweet syndrome (SS) occurring during venetoclax–azacitidine and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) therapy in a patient with relapsed acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, highlighting a newly recognized spectrum of inflammatory adverse events associated with cytokine dysregulation.
