💪 Welcome to BISHOP CHOSSFIT! Where the rock is chossy, the climbing is steep, and apparently one chalk bag just isn’t enough. 😂 Luke @lukeswilson1 coined the name, and Marty Lewis is here to represent!

Marty has been developing routes and documenting the Owens River Gorge since 1990. Yesterday we captured him sending Gorgeous .. so awesome he’s still crushing after 11 knee surgeries.🤘

And those double chalk bags? Turns out, reaching behind his body to grab the one bag just wasn’t working anymore.

Marty’s contribution to the Gorge goes way beyond his climbing. The original route guides started as little pamphlets. The first edition book came out in 2000, and Marty just completed the 12th edition, arriving next month! 🚢📚This edition has hundreds of new routes plus some great geology and history added in. It is now available for preorder online!

Shop mates work together, play together. 🏔️On Thursday, Eastside Sports crew team members Aaron and Harrison headed out to explore the Northeast Ridge of Bear Creek Spire. Temps were below freezing at the start, and their numb hands were pulling down… all part of the fall adventure in the Eastern Sierra!

It’s getting a bit chilly out here. 🥶

Yup, we’re firing up the heaters, stocking up firewood, and officially feeling winter in the air.

And so is the El Niño hype machine.

We want nothing more than a killer winter here. Deep snow, endless powder days, and a season that delivers but before we start calling it the winter of the century, let’s take a look at the history.

Golden light, crisp mountain air, and rugged peaks painted in fall colors make this one of the most beautiful times of year to explore our big backyard.

Climbers Michael Vaill and Tanner Wanish reflect on the trials that plagued their Goliath choss march, including the trauma they carried from a major rappelling accident on the Dru.

Nobody and Goliath Director Joshua Noll also shared his perspective from behind the lens, including the challenges of enduro hiking to film “the wildlife”.

An honest conversation about the physical and emotional challenges of alpinism, and the resilience it takes to keep moving forward. 🏔️

June Lake has so many beautiful, colorful hikes this time of year! 🍂 But be warned, many of the trails climbing out of June Lake are STEEP! 🥾

Here’s one of our favorites: Yost Lake 💙 A gorgeous high-country destination with fall color, mountain views, and a little uphill effort to earn those views.

And remember, Inyo National Forest is still under fire restrictions, so campfires are not allowed. Please check current regulations before heading out and help keep our forests safe.
