I won’t have enough words to say but I’ll start by saying when I was 19 watching the Olympics in London 2012, I always wondered what it would be like to compete at the Olympics. 12 years later, I get that chance. I just want to say thank you to everyone who is ever invested in me not only as an athlete but as a person. This also goes out to everyone who I was coached by as well as everyone I’ve ever had the privilege of training with. Your investment was worth it and special thanks to my current squad @missionrun_balt800 @uarunning without your guidance and support this definitely wouldn’t have been possible.

I say all this to this say, We goin to Paris baybee!!!!🇫🇷🥳🥳🥳

Athletes I promise you it’s okay to give it your all and come up short. It shows that you care, no need to act all cool and nonchalant because you didn’t win. The loses come with a lesson most times and you won’t learn well from not doing your best.

Make sure you do your best in everything you do💪🏾. by @eibadin

Showing up early to practice for prehab work for 10+ years not only helped me do extra activation drills for my body but it also helped me get my mind right for the task ahead. Showing up early to places is becoming a lost art but for me, I truly believed it helped me stay consistent on the track and relatively healthy. This is a simple thing that seems boring but when you see what it does over time, you’ll be amazed. This a simple thing to do and you’d be surprised how many people don’t do it. Often times people ask what the secret workouts are but they don’t ask about the process or routine to get to those workouts. Remember the best ability is availability 😉

This can look like one word or an intention for the day. Pick one thing and work on it while perfecting your craft. For example, on a random sprint day I would work on pushing at the start. That I made sure to focus on the things that would help me push at the start.

Now this is a tough one for some because after practice the first thing you want to do is go home. For me after 99% of practices I would get a rope out and start stretching. This also helped me get into a relaxed state after a tough session. Even after the easy sessions and easy runs, stretching was always part of the routine. I didn’t care if I saw someone who was faster than me not have a routine… I made sure I had one. by @eibadin

My why: I do this mental performance coaching because I was that athlete in my head A LOT. Wondering if I had it, if my time would come, trying to figure out what everyone else is doing, poor self talk, extremely anxious before competition, really high off a good performance and then thought I sucked bad after a bad one and much more. It’s crazy because I was typically extremely positive on the outside but man I had to do a lot of work to get better/positive on the inside.

I had some tools to help but there was a lot I didn’t have as well. I am just glad that I have the tools to give the next gen so they can handle the mental side of sport along the physical demands as well.

Athletes, I would love to hear from yall. What are some things you like to know about the mental side? I’ll answer your questions in the comments.

Coaches, what are some things you’re noticing? Happy to answer your questions as well. by @eibadin

Can you speak something into reality?

How long can you hold course while life happens to reach your dreams?

In this episode of the Matter Mentality podcast we spoke with @eibadin all about his journey to reach the peak of the sporting world in his field (the Olympics)

What his journey took and where he strives to take it!

These are the conversations young athletes need to listen to straight from the horse's mouth

You can't get much more honest than this and we try to share that as best we can!

Episode goes live tonight on YouTube and Spotify!

Let this post serve as a reminder of knowing who you are before anyone tries to tell you. They’ll try to say you fell off because of one L, let them talk but don’t let their opinions become your inner voice/self-talk. Believe in the greatness you have even if you don’t see it yet. See it for yourself and others will follow.

Just because you don’t have the results that you want yet doesn’t mean that you’re not on the right track. Keep at it and when the opportunity presents itself you’ll be ready because you been working and you’ll know who you are 😎. by @eibadin

What you say to yourself matters a lot, it is extremely important that you are very intentional with the words you use not only to others but yourself.

Little things like the content you consume, the music you listen to, the people you listen to all have a way of affecting the things you say to yourself.

There’s space for you to still hold yourself accountable without beating yourself up at the same time. You can acknowledge what you need to work on all while still having an optimistic lens.

Some stuff is truly bigger than me, grateful for all the lessons learned in sport. Was able to do a Mental Coaching session with Athletic Performance Inc. (API) basketball academy @apitrainsmd @apibasketballacademy . Thankful for the opportunity 🙏🏾

The main focus was how to stay in your own lane, building confidence without comparing yourself.

One of the key takeaways that resonated with the kids was that the best players still make mistakes but their response to it is what set them apart. As well as stacking up small wins to then compound them into big wins.

If your team needs a coach to get their minds right for the upcoming seasons, shoot me a message and let’s discuss by @eibadin

🚨Client Wins🚨

Had the opportunity to work with a basketball team at @apitrainsmd API(athletic performance inc) on the mental skills necessary to compete at a high level.

After one session, this is what the coach had to say:

“I really appreciate what you did for our group! You might not believe it but these are different kids!!

They have been playing at a higher level and more focused on the team goals. It has been amazing to see unfold.”

Love this work and hope many more teams with the mental side of sport. Shift your mind, enhance your performance.💪🏾 by @eibadin

Had the pleasure of doing a mindset coaching session with the University of Memphis distance team this morning.
What we spoke about was having delusional confidence and being realistic with the work it takes.

Told them that they should believe you can do something big even before you have proof.
But that belief has to be backed by a real understanding of the work it takes.

Be bold enough to see the vision.
Be honest enough to respect the grind it demands.

Those were the key takeaways. Thank you for having me @memphistfxc by @eibadin
