Building 903 by Lois Lowry - Kirkus says Get It ✅

So excited for you to hear this timely novel from @loislowrywriter and @clarionbooks out Sept 29th- available for preorder now!

Thanks @kirkus_reviews @kirkusaudiobookreviews for the feature and thank you to ExecutiveProducer @its.kamala._ @harperaudio for the incredible opportunity to tell this important story.

Honestly this book feels so connected to the TED talk I delivered last year on the Power of a Human Storyteller in the Age of AI and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of bringing Building 903 to audio.

Let Ms. Lowry’s story be a warning a wakeup call, a plea to read a book that a human wrote today and listen to an audiobook that a human narrated. Just sayin’

Shoutout to @erockblack Karen Radner at Harper and Arra Melikian @johnmarshallmedia and the entire post-production team!

Yesterday was a hard day. I was down on myself for a couple results I didn’t like (both personally + professionally). Today, running on not much sleep I’m tired, but the energy is different.

Here’s what shifted:

I used some of the exact tools I’ll be teaching at the Dream Big, Plan Smart Retreat. Not perfectly. But pretty consistently.

If you’ve set goals before, you know the drill: a bad day doesn’t mean your plan isn’t working. If you’ve put in the time, systems that work for your brain, and you keep showing up (even at a B-, even imperfectly) chances are it’s working more than it feels.

But if you’ve never had a plan to begin with, or you’re overwhelmed right now, or new ideas keep showing up and you don’t know where they should go in terms of priorities — that’s exactly what this retreat was created for.

Today’s the last day of Early Bird pricing. The codes go away tonight.

If you’ve got questions, comment RETREAT and I’ll reach out — happy to hop on a call and see if this is a fit for you.

And truly, you’re doing okay. Keep showing up for yourself. If today’s a rough one, doesn’t mean tomorrow will be.

I studied at the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford program, and it was a turning point I didn’t know I needed.

At the time, I was craving validation. Higher level training, a prestigious program. Something to prove I wasn’t done growing.

I got that. And, I also received community (other actors playing at higher stakes), and I left with a ton of confidence and better understanding of my value.

The chapter that followed has been a bright one. ✨

Years of fulfilling regional theatre, then came voiceover, TV and audiobook narration.

Here’s what I know now that I didn’t know then: the plateau isn’t the end of the story. It’s usually the part just before the turning point, if you’re willing to step into new rooms that help you grow.

That’s what I created the Dream Big, Plan Smart Retreat to be.

3 days in Providence, RI (my hometown, a small city big on creativity) to help you:

✅ reset,
✅ get honest about where you’ve plateaued
✅ create the plan (and meet the people who can help you) move through it!

📍October 6-8, 2026 | Providence, RI
🎟️ Early Bird and 25% off with code DREAM25 through Thursday, August 27th

Whenever I surround myself with other creatives - performers, thinkers, artists, healers - going after big things, those are the moments where I grow. And only then do the things I’ve been desiring (and even taking action on) seem to magically come my way.

But it’s NOT magic.

It’s taking stock in where you’ve been and where you want to go.

It’s learning where you’ve been personally holding yourself back, and getting vulnerable enough to explore those areas.

It’s taking your desires serious enough to make a plan, set up accountability, and lean into community for support.

This is what we’re getting up to October 6-8th at the Dream Big, Plan Smart Retreat in Providence, RI and there’s space for you.

Comment RETREAT if you’d like to learn more.

Not every part of my acting and coaching career comes easy to me, and having ADHD often makes focusing a challenge.

I’m deep in prep for an upcoming audiobook written by a Newberry Award winning author (will share more soon ✨), and honestly? I’m walking into this week with a full cup. Lots of hang time with friends last week. Turns out that matters more than I realized for the more intensive focus days.

What’s your go-to when focus doesn’t come easy?

What do you do when a tradition you used to love doesn’t feel right anymore?

I spent my whole childhood earning a spot in the 4th of July parade — marching band, color guard, ages 10 to 17, in my hometown dubbed the most patriotic in America. At 17, I even competed for Miss Fourth of July, the thing I’d watched from the parade route since I was a kid. I lost. Badly. Didn’t even place.

This year I didn’t go to the parade at all.

Not because of the pageant (I promise I’ve made my peace with that one 🤣). But because it hasn’t felt right for me to attend for years.

If you’re a creative who’s ever felt weird about clapping along to a tradition that doesn’t fully sit right anymore — this one’s for you. Swipe through.

Your talent is worth more than applause. Mine’s going toward local candidates this summer. Emceeing fundraisers. Strategizing. Using my voice, literally.

I’m not telling you what cause to pick. I’m asking what you’re already sitting on that could be leverage instead of just a skill.

💬 Tell me in the comments: what’s a time you used your talent for something bigger than the stage — or a moment you wish you had?
