Everyone knows that a significant amount of power comes from the lower body. However, without the right tools how do you know if you are truly using the ground to maximize the power output of the lower body? Come train with us and our @swingcatalystbaseball force plate to find out! #elitediamondperformance #hitting #trainsmarter #baseball #hittingcoach #njbaseball #hittingmechanics #forceplate #exitvelocity by @elitediamondperformance

Unbelievable ride over the past 6 years getting to watch @frank_schwindel and all of the success he had in his baseball career! One of the highlights of my career as a coach has been getting to be a part of that journey. 448 sessions, 18,000 swings and a ton of amazing memories. Even though the playing career is over I can’t wait to watch Frank move on and continue to do great things! #elitediamondperformance #frankschwindel #cubs #royals #tigers #oaklandathletics by @elitediamondperformance

Such an honor to have our 2010 Randolph state championship team inducted into the @randolphhighschoolnj Hall of Fame. Awesome night getting to catch up with such an amazing group of people. This was my first coaching position and was no doubt one of the absolute highlights of my career in baseball. by @elitediamondperformance

Hitter Spotlight: @_blakesimon2

Blake began training at Elite Diamond Performance about a year and a half ago and has seen some crazy improvements with his swing that have shown up in big ways both at the facility as well as on the field.

Blake has had a few focuses during his time training at EDP. From a power perspective, he has focused at putting more force into the ground, particularly through his front side, and creating more stretch. From a consistency standpoint, he has focused on working behind the ball and creating a consistent uphill plane with his swing.

Blake is a great example of a hitter who uses his weekly sessions to learn and experiment, takes those lessons into his own training and works extremely hard.

Dog Launcher Turns

What it’s for:

1. Feeling lower body pulling upper body
2. Maintaining good posture through rotation
3. Crating uphill bat path
4. Turning behind the ball

Rolling over is almost always caused by either a lack good posture or the loss of good posture through the swing. In this overhead view the swing on the left maintains good posture with the head out over the plate while the roll over on the right sees the head pull away from home plate causing the shoulders to pull up and the hitter to roll over.

Hitter Spotlight: @jfutt_31

Jakob began his training at Elite Diamond Performance only a few months ago and has worked incredibly hard to see some unreal metric gains in the facility, and more importantly huge improvements on the field.

Jakob has worked on gaining both power and consistency in his swing by using the ground more effectively, creating more stretch and maintaining his bat path to stay in plane for longer. All of this has shown up in both incredible improvements in his metrics but also, and more importantly more power and consistency on the field.
