In awe of my ancestors. The resiliency! The inconceivable joy! What an honour it is to learn more about you and the forests I owe everything to.

Earlier this year I finished writing Choreographed Cosmos — my first full-length poetry collection!

My zine-y heart originally wanted to self-publish these pages because it is terrifying sending poems from my deep inner world(s) into the void. I am super duper proud of this collection and my manuscript has been submitted to two publishers so far (eek!). Maybe existing is a series of micro-voids.

I hope Choreographed Cosmos will be in our universe soon.✨🌌🪐 by @em.is.cussen

Two years after the release of Period Pieces, it’s time for the sequel!

Ovulation Odes includes 12 poems, written during ovulation, over the course (or period) of one year. Each poem can be read as a sticky note to self, a response to the flow of months in Period Pieces, or as an ode-ful evolving narrative.

Wholehearted and hysterical, Ovulation Odes is a metaphorical middle finger in the air, balanced with candid compassion.🌀🖕💙
