Residência Artística
TRUST Collective

Artist Residency
TRUST Collective

Ema Lavrador was in residence at TRUST from June 8 to 14, developing the storyboard for the animated short film “Levemente”.

TRUST residencies welcome projects at different stages of development, creating time and space for research, experimentation, and creation in relation to the house, the village, and the surrounding landscape. In Barril de Alva, Ema Lavrador further developed the visual and narrative structure of a film rooted in memory, place, and the experience of returning.

“Levemente” follows a young woman returning to the house where she grew up. The project is rooted in the artist’s relationship with the village of Dadim, in Trás-os-Montes, reflecting on rural memory and the experience of leaving and returning.

Thank you so much, @entrecurtas and @tefchaves, for inviting me to screen “Terra à Vista” in my hometown. I ate pastéis, caught up with friends, and enjoyed the selection. My film is a few years old, but it was the first one I made away from home, so screening it at this festival was a special experience. Here’s to the next editions, and I hope to be able to screen many more films at this theater! by @ema.lavrador

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in LAMP, an animation project development lab at @lanternamagicafestival in Goiânia (Brazil), with my short film “Levemente”. It was a week filled with beautiful films and even more beautiful people! To top it off, my pitch was awarded the @festival_monstra prize. None of this would have been possible without the support of the festival (@camilaaanunes and @wadihelkadi are forces of nature), of @camoesip, @camoes_brasil and @embaixadadeportugalembrasilia, and, of course, the studio @animais_avpl. Thanks for everything and we'll meet again soon 💡✨

Hello! So, I don’t post a lot, as you might have noticed. But I’ll try to change that. For starters, 2025 was a year that felt like ten, and here is my recap: did a lot of workshops, went to even more film festivals (including my first trip abroad to attend @zubroffka), and worked on very cool films.
Also, today is the 2nd anniversary of when I started collaborating with @animais_avpl, so here is a sneak peek for my short film in development 🤫 by @ema.lavrador
