We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jeffrey Archer.

Over the years, he was more than a much-loved guest at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. He was a captivating storyteller who returned to Dubai time and again to share his stories, writing experiences, and passion for literature with audiences.

His books have reached generations of readers around the world, leaving an enduring mark on the literary landscape. His legacy lives on through the stories he told and the millions of readers who found themselves immersed in them.

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.

بقلوب مؤمنة بقضاء الله وقدره، نتقدم بخالص التعازي وصادق المواساة إلى أسرة المغفور له بإذن الله تعالى، الشيخ أحمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، وإلى شعب الإمارات، سائلين الله تعالى أن يتغمد الفقيد بواسع رحمته ومغفرته، وأن يسكنه فسيح جناته، وأن يلهم أهله وأحبابه الصبر والسلوان. سيبقى الراحل في الذاكرة لما قدمه من إسهامات في خدمة الوطن، وسيظل إرثه حاضراً في قلوبنا.

With heavy hearts, the Emirates Literature Foundation joins the nation in mourning the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He will be remembered for his contributions to the UAE, and his legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and in the nation he served.

Our deepest condolences and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

⁨ ⁨ ⁨ مع انطلاقة شهر كامل للاحتفاء بالمرأة الإماراتية، نعبّر عن خالص امتناننا لسميرة الخاجة، عضوة نادي «ذخر»، لمشاركتنا تأملاتها حول شعار هذا العام «بنظهر الأقوى والأفضل».

هذا الفيلم هو الأول ضمن سلسلة تم تصويرها بالتعاون مع نادي «ذخر»، بهدف توثيق القصص بلسان النساء الاماراتيات والتي توّرث تجاربهن وحكمتهن للأجيال القادمة.

كل عام والمرأة الإماراتية بخير 🇦🇪

As we embark on a month-long celebration of Emirati women, we are deeply grateful to Samira Al Khaja, member of Al Thukher Club for sharing her reflections on this year’s theme, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better’.

This is the first film in a series created in collaboration with Thukher Club, with the shared aim of capturing the oral narratives of Emirati women — preserving their voices, experiences, and wisdom for generations to come.

Ali AlShaali didn’t just write stories. He built a house for them.

An Emirati poet, novelist, and publisher, author of five poetry collections and several works of fiction. His recent works include the novel My Name is Alya and the short story collection This is My Father and Lives in Pomegranate. He was named Poet of the Year at the Sharjah Festival of Arabic Poetry in 2024, and his poetry has been translated into Spanish, Turkish, and Greek. An engineer by training, he now leads Al Hudhud Publishing Group, which he founded in 2011. AlShaali knows that action is what a writer owes the writers who come next.

It was a glorious evening welcoming back Avni Doshi (@avnidoshi) this Thursday to Alserkal Arts Foundation to celebrate the launch of her second novel ‘The First House’ in conversation with Ahlam Bolooki (@ahlambolooki).

Doshi wrote the first draft here in our studios at the Foundation, surrounded by the Avenue’s resident cats and the creative rhythm. We were so pleased to host the literary community as she shared the book’s journey and revisited its formative moments, with old friends and new faces in the Common Room.

Thank you to Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of Emirates Literature Foundation (@emirateslitfest), for guiding such a special and engaging conversation, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to the warmth of the night.
