@laurensalimbene truly is an angel, I wish I could express just how much she’s changed my perspective & my life in words but I’ll surely try!! 😉 I remember the day I met Lauren at our first workshop, I knew I wanted to know her, I knew I wanted her as a friend. I asked her a million questions & we talked & shared so much. I felt so blessed to be able to make a best friend so quickly, she believed in me, loved me, and supported me. Unfortunately I was not able to compete that year, instead I was in life saving surgery, BUT Lauren earned the Title of Miss Utah Volunteer… proud is an understatement. Next day she made the time to visit me at primary’s, sat with me, cried with me and that moment made me realize just how much I needed a friend like her. Watching her hold a state title was incredible, she served amazingly. Then she went on to compete for Miss Volunteer America… shocker, she won!😉 She is so deserving.. i decided to work hard, push my self, and believe in something bigger than me. My why. Earning the title of Miss Utah Volunteer has been an absolute honor, but it was so special to have one of my best friends crown me, support me, and serve together. Thank you Lauren for being who you are. I look up to you! & I love you!🤟🏽 by @emmanshelton

Thank you @missvolunteeramericapag for giving me my new best friends. Heading into nationals I was nervous, excited, ready, and all the In between. I had the opportunity to get to know every girl and take something away from each of them. They are all so determined, kind, hardworking, and I am so blessed to know them. I wish I could relive this week. It was the best week of my life, watching my best friends make it to top 16, top 5 and even if some of us didn’t make it we were all so happy for those who did. It’s truly a life changing experience. At least for me it was! Thank you to every girl who made this experience so special. To the class of 2027 THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU! 😭❤️

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey with Miss Volunteer America was being able to use my platform for something bigger than myself. Raising money for St. Jude is something I will always be proud to have been a part of. As someone who has spent so much of my own life in hospitals and knows what it feels like to face scary medical moments, this cause hits my heart a little differently. I know how much it means to have people standing beside you when life feels uncertain. St. Jude gives children and their families that same kind of hope, support, and chance to focus on what matters most getting better. My crown has given me so many incredible opportunities, but moments like this are the reason I wanted the crown in the first place. To serve. To give back. To use my story and my voice to help someone else. I’m so grateful that my Miss Volunteer America journey allowed me to be part of something that will continue making an impact long after my time on the stage.

One month until I pass down this crown and welcome a new Miss Utah Volunteer into a year filled with opportunities, growth, memories, and so many moments to make a difference. It’s bittersweet knowing my time with this crown is coming to an end, but I am SO excited to see which contestant will take home this crown and begin her own journey. I know this program has so much to offer, and I can’t wait to watch the next queen step into this role and make it her own. 🤍

Yesterday was the final photo shoot as Miss Utah Volunteer, and it was incredible! I am so excited to share more photos & content with you all! Thank you so so much to @marcreynoldsphotography for capturing some of my most special moments in my life and being such a support to me!!

Since the day I was crowned on October 4, I made myself a promise: to walk for at least one hour every single day. Some days that hour came easily. Other days, it was much harder. There have been days when I had to push myself, find the motivation, and remind myself why I started. And there have been plenty of days where that one hour turned into two hours or even more. No matter how long I walked, I made the choice to keep showing up. I’ve walked for more than just myself. I’ve walked in support of every person living with Type 1 Diabetes, every family navigating this disease, and for my Type 1 Day at a Time serve initiative. 💙
As of today, I’ve walked approximately 1,509 miles since the day I was crowned. But I’m not done yet. Before I pass on my crown, I have one more goal..

2,000 MILES. 👑
That means 491 more miles of putting one foot in front of the other, raising awareness, and walking for a cause that means so much to my heart. Some days will be harder than others. Some walks will be longer than others. But I’m going to keep showing up.

2,000 miles before I give up my crown. Let’s do this. 💙👟👑
