Celebrating
48 Years of Service
and Many Life Lessons Along the Way

I was recently on the radio to share about the work of NCC, Inc. Thank YOU Stormy Taylor for the opportunity to share about our ministry, where this Sunday, we celebrate 48 YEARS OF SERVICE and I am so grateful. Grateful for the years of community service, my parents, Monroe and JoeAnn Ballard- who began this work, and our skilled Staff who do such good work everyday AND I am truly grateful for the personal life lessons I’m gleaning along the way.

My Latest Life Lesson, Reflection, A-Ha Moment …

On One Side-

People see me on TV, hear me on the radio, and watch me speak and sing in front of all kinds of groups. When people see you that way, they admire you or like who you are, but mostly from a distance. What they see is the best of you: the gifts and skills you carry.

So it’s easy to admire that person. ( And I’m Thankful for the appreciation)

On the Flip Side-

The ones with Me every day, see it all. They are there for the Good Times AND They’re there in the Pressure and the crunch-time moments, and they see how I respond to every kind of situation. Sometimes those aren’t my best moments.

Steeped in deadlines, carrying information not everyone knows, and dealing with physical pain that gnaws (I spelled it “Naw”at first🤣) at you at the perfect Wrong Time!

It’s easy to blame others when everything doesn’t go to plan to make yourself feel better… but it can’t work like that. When its all said and done, You Agreed to Lead . (Wow, That Rhymes! )

Leadership isn’t about having it all together. It’s about walking through the areas where You’ve matured and the areas where You are still maturing, and trusting God in all of it.

Stay Focused and Honest With You and Those You Do Life with each day and Trust God to Lead You as you Lead Others or Just Do Life With Others .

Being confident of this, that he who began good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

God is your strength.
Your struggles don’t cancel your calling.

There have been times I’ve had to show up with problems I had to put to the side for the moment and I could only do it because I knew where my confidence came from.

Happy 34th Anniversary to Us! NOT 35 ! Apologies on my Math!
Thanks to the Lord for Being Our Glue and Grace🤎

Thirty-four years of marriage… and life LIFE’N!

We’ve had some challenging days, and we’ve had some really great days.

Over the years we’ve worked through a near divorce, rushed our first born to the hospital due to a bacteria that was almost fatal, got through an allergic reaction that was a close call for our youngest, faced the news that Rodney had diabetes and 15 years later that I had cancerous polyps.

We made it through COVID and Are Finally out of an Employment drought.

The Lord has Kept US.

After 34 years, we know exactly what buttons to push—and we’ve matured in Christ enough to know when to leave those buttons alone! 😂

Rodney is WAY neater than I am, but he never complains about my clothes laid over the chair.

I’ve been blowing my nose or sneezing for almost this entire marriage

He still chews the gristle off the chicken bone !

Seafood is Amongst our Favorite Foods and we like so many of the same foods.

Along with our Sons,
We have been to Half of the world’s Water Parks, Our Sons Still travel with us on Trips, We are learning how to do social media content together and we still serve on the Worship Team Together and do gigs together for ALL these years.. You, on Percussion and Me, on Vocals for 28 years and counting… on the same stage, at the same church🎶🎶🎶 Ok, I’m letting that all sink in.

Man! I try hard to not give in… You still make me Laugh- with yo silly self!

Most Importantly,
We Both Love Jesus and Have Accepted Him in Our Hearts, as our Lord and Savior 🙏🏾

And After that… Our greatest shared JOY is loving our sons and being so proud of the men they have become.

Thirty-four years of persevering, maturing, learning, laughing, and a whole lotta praying!!

For Better, For Worse.
In Sickness and in Health.
For Richer or Poorer…
Until Death do us part.

Happy Anniversary to Us… We’s Still Together!

Here’s to 34 years ( not 35 Years) and the commitment we made on October 10th at 3:00 p.m.
