A DIFFERENT WORLD IS LIVE!
If ya know me, you KNOW this series is embedded in my DNA. I was literally born like 15 minutes before the original series premiered 39 Years ago!!
Over the past year, it has been such a beautiful experience watching THIS A Different World come to life. Felicia Pride put her whole SELF into this project. It is the warm hug she wanted to give us —dipped in chocolate and honey.

I didn’t attend an HBCU and Lord knows UNCW was FAR from that but I understood that magic through MY community. I remember watching my aunties Erica and Tonya come home from Central and WSSU in their school gear, watching them STEP, taking in the asymmetrical bobs, the hoops, the pride, the ENERGY! I absorbed all of it. It meant something to me then, and it still does now. It’s one of the MANY reasons I pledged Delta. ❤️🐘🔺
So today, on my 39th birthday, I’m feeling extra grateful. Grateful for those memories. Grateful for the full-circle moments. And incredibly grateful for the gift of working alongside Felicia Pride on this campaign and helping bring her vision to the world.

My little sister Ché Ché ran another 10K today in the heart of Santa Monica for ASICS Move Your Mind, a series dedicated to removing barriers to exercise. And I am PROUD! 🤎
Through all of the changes life has brought her over the past two years, her discipline has never wavered. And the community she’s found with Compton Run Club has been such a beautiful thing to watch.
She has her Sunday race routine DOWN. Me, on the other hand? I DO NOT. 😂 I, in fact, did not have another muffin ready to go for my sweet Axel Ha!
But I’m happy to showcase real life, the little moments happening all around us, all the time, that deserve to be celebrated too. Whoopsies and all.

How is it already July?!
A few spring /summer highlights I reckon….

Seeing the Piggly Wiggly in Jackson.

Axel reminding me that apparently... I can’t do basic math. 
The best quality time with family in L.A. & Wendell. 
The Michael campaign was absolutely INSANE in the best way.

I hate that I like Miami. Tré Thomas started a whole new company and we celebrated!

Happy Birthday to my mom, my right hand, my first advocate, the first humanitarian I’ve known. You’re always fighting for other folks rights. What an honor it’s been to be your daughter 💖 Thank you for always encouraging our young hearts to run free. This has been my mom’s theme song our whole lives, so Devine it’s trending now.

When @dj_valthamisfit played this song we all knew what time it was. As you see, my mom is always the life of the party. This moment was perfect!

May God keep you in good health and spirits for many many many more years to come!

My sister Camille got married yesterday, and it was absolutely beautiful. In the heart of Monroe, NC, under a stunning Carolina blue sky, with birds chirping and even the soft sounds of goats nearby—I witnessed two becoming one. It was truly special.

Every single detail was hand-crafted by Camille. From the really cool text paper napkins to the champagne served upon seating, to the beautiful display of photos honoring family members celebrating from heaven—it was all so thoughtful and deeply felt.

And the reception? Whew. The food was so good! They had me at the garlic aioli and fries. But the band?! I danced the entire night. So, so good!

I haven’t seen Camille in forever, but there was absolutely no way I was missing her wedding. Since our days at UNCW, we’ve always shown up for each other—through the big moments and everything in between. I’m so grateful I got to witness such a beautiful day, so clearly ordained by God.

Drew is solid. Truly good man and I’m so excited for what awaits them both in this next chapter. #FARNIEBusiness taken in Monroe, North Carolina by @etuckk

My sweet nephew Axel Mack is 4 today!! I cannot believe it! Where did the time go?!!! He’s my whole heart—and he has me wrapped about his liddle fingers. It’s been such a joy to watch him grow and discover new interests—he loves paleontology and the periodic table. It’s so wild! And then he loves acting and performing! His mind is brilliant and I’m so grateful to God for allowing me to play a small role in ushering him into a big life that awaits him —filled with opportunities, wonder and space for him wander safely however he chooses. My sister is an incredible mama! She’s fantastic and I’m just so proud of her. Happy Birthday Axel Mack! I got you for life 💙🔒 by @etuckk

This is what I want writers and editors to see when I’m pitching and advocating—a mother standing with her sons. Mama T, standing proud with Julien and Justen on this Sundance carpet, is exactly what I push for and fight for.
When I’m pitching press,  I’m pitching someone’s child. Their hopes. Their dreams. Their sacrifices.
I have a lot to say about performative media at Sundance and about getting real clear on what the hell “indie” actually means. And trust me, I’ll keep fighting. I’ll keep raising my voice. I’ll keep pushing for equity, access, and respect for emerging filmmakers who are building without machines, safety nets, or shortcuts.
The Turner Brothers—Julien & Justen brought their vision to life with FreeLance, and I am so incredibly proud of what they accomplished. What it took. What it means.
But for now, I’m sitting in pride and gratitude.
 For the Turner Brothers. For the incredible producers. For this wildly talented cast. 🤎

It’s still 12/20 in Los Angeles, so I’m still posting! Happy Birthday to my beautiful sissy, Queen Tuck, My Ché Ché. The Coolest. She solid. Real thorough. Carolina girl. Mama had a serious knee replacement surgery last month, and I don’t know what I was thinking, but I was under the impression that she’d be up moving after 3 days. Boy was I wrong! I couldn’t leave my mama like that, I just couldn’t. I scrapped my return to LA and hunkered down in N.C. to help mama and Pops with the transition, and yes I helped myself to a little Waffle House, BoJangles and maybe a Mountain Dew 🙈. I also snuck off to the State Fair— I’ve been obsessed with the Dorton Arena architecture since I was 8. Also went to see Brandy & Monica! The time in N.C. was good for my soul. What a privilege it is to take care of our family and show our love. Love you, mama! So proud of you for pushing through 🤎✨ by @etuckk

38! Not even going to hold you, this birthday kinda hit me like a ton of bricks. 2 years away from 40, a checklist that ain’t even half way finished, and a lot of tough changes & challenges this year. But, OHhhh to be kept by God. Safe & Sound, provision and a peace that surpasses all understanding. My sister Yani, flew into New York for the DAY to take me to dinner. We thought we were going to have a Sex In the City-ish, heels, full glam night out—didn’t quite work out like that after a full press day! It was a crew neck & sneakers kinda night and I was happy about that! Mama said I’d understand it better by & by with time, and dern it she wasn’t lying. I’m not much -okay, I’m not a runner at all, so when my sister said she was running a half marathon in 2 weeks, I looked at her like she was crazy. Now she runs every week- twice a week with the amazing community of Compton Run Club, but 13+ miles ?!! Girl what?! And she did it. Ran all those miles, and the next day we moved a washer & dryer. That’s a story for another time! I’m so damn proud of her taking on the challenge and finishing strong! And a big thank you to the folks at Compton Run Club for sharing their snacks with me —took me back to my days watching my sister run with the Carolina Eagles wayyyy back. So so proud of you @queentuckk . I’ll always be rooting for you ! Keep going 🏁 by @etuckk
