Sarah Lutkenhaus
Ryan Walach

Intervention is a free sound series dedicated to sound art, ambient, and experimental music held at Innertown Pub, Home to the Arts. For the fourth installment, we are pleased to welcome Sarah Lutkenhaus, followed by reading(s) by Ryan Walach.

Sarah Lutkenhaus
Sarah Lutkenhaus is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist working across sound, performance, and printed media to explore emotional complexity and the instability of language. Using modular synthesis, field recordings, samples, and vocal improvisation, she builds layered compositions that push speech to the edge of abstraction, where meaning and sense of time fracture. Her work embraces the fleeting experience of liveness, crafting emotionally charged environments that heighten the tension between control and vulnerability. Drawing on archival research and collaborative exchange, she listens for overlooked histories and cultivates community through performances, publications, and collective acts of listening.
@lutkie

Ryan Walach
Steeped in generative/algorithmic, found, and autobiographical practice, Ryan’s work often decries the currency of poetic language in an information economy that is predicated on asemantic transactional discourse, while simultaneously and paradoxically composing intimately confabulated narratives of self- and otherhood. Ryan’s work appears on your Facebook for iPhone, LGBTQ@Facebook, Facebook for Developers, Facebook Games, and anywhere else Facebooks can be found.

Will Murnighan
GS70

We’re delighted to debut Intervention, a free monthly sound series dedicated to sound art, ambient, and experimental music at Innertown Pub, Home to the Arts. For the first installment, we welcome Will Murnighan and GS70.

-

Will Murnighan is an artist and electronic musician based in Chicago, IL. @will012345678910

-

GS70 is the solo project of Anastasia Gladkova, an experimental musician based in Chicago, IL. Through processed vocals and modular synthesis, Gladkova drifts between ambient textures and industrial noise to share impressions of grief, trauma, and a longing for a sense of home that might have been lost. Born and raised in Russia, Gladkova’s influences are equally rooted in a cherished cultural tradition of Orthodox chants and Eastern European folk, while also drawing on her fascination with Soviet post-punk, shoegaze, and industrial music as forms of rebellion. Blending these influences together, GS70 creates cathartic narratives that express the emotional complexity of searching for an identity in the absence of a true sense of home. @hvatit.buhat

TUESDAY THE 28TH: as the leaves turn, an evening of midwestern sonic surrealism in Avondale-from an insane cast of innovators and outsiders. Andy Ortmann headlines to doubtless melt minds with his electronic abstractions. Noise Shrine graces the space with her liminal beats adorned with artifacts of almost nostalgic dream haze. And joining signal decay’s cacophony of rust belt imaginary will be a highly rare sighting of the High Priest of “Fuck Jazz” … BLUE MOVIES in his first appearance in years. ex.esn will be on the decks for the evening, weaving in delirious pulses amid the sounds of the breathing world.
