For anyone wanting to know where EXEX came from. The crazy true story. It started with a belief: If we help extraordinary people do a little more, the impact is limitless. This belief created the Carry The Skull movement, proving that small actions can actually change the whole world. That proof of concept evolved into EXEX Global—a brand created by Jake and Kelly Bertelsen to exalt the extraordinary. #EXEX #EXEXclothing #EXEXglobal #EXEXtattoo ________________________________________________ What does EXEX mean? Sometimes a tattoo can change the way you see yourself. For years, she'd been noticing the spider veins on her legs and wanted to find a beautiful way to cover them. So we took the time to map out her legs before we even started drawing. Carefully positioning each flower to create a design that would both flow naturally with her body and cover the areas she wanted to address. And now, instead of looking down and noticing the spider veins, she gets to enjoy beautiful flowers that were designed specifically for her! We love creating unique tattoos, but knowing that our tattoos can also help someone feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin makes what we do even more meaningful! Thank you for trusting us with your beautiful tattoo Andrea! This one skill will improve every black and grey tattoo you do. When I first started tattooing, I struggled with realism for the same reason many artists do: I couldn't accurately identify values. I had done value scales in art class, but nobody had ever shown me how to actually apply them to real artwork. Everything changed when I started training myself to see values using a 10-value scale. I would point to different areas of a reference image and try to accurately identify the value before checking my answer. Over time, this trained my eye to see value relationships much more clearly. Once I could accurately identify values, rendering them became dramatically easier. One idea created two different leg sleeves. Andrea came into our shop with an idea to get tattoos to cover veins on her legs that she was self conscious of. We went through the EXEX Tattoo Process and we were able to collaborate with her to come up with an idea that she really loved. And the end result is something that turned out better than either of us could have come up with on our own! Thank you for bringing your wonderful tattoo idea into the shop Andrea!
