Every league has different import rules, which changes who takes the field in international competition 🏈 🌍

We break down Finland’s import rules, and why it matters. We also share who we hope to see in the CEFL in 2027:
• The return of an Austrian league representative @afl_austrianfootballleague
• more @germanfootballleague teams
• more @italianfootballleague teams
• at least 1 representative from every big league

How would import rules impact a teams DNA if they went from domestic to international play?
Who has the best advantage? Let us know below 👇

FULL EPISODE drops tomorrow 10am EST

What if every team in the league kicked off the season in the same city, on the same weekend? 🇮🇹 🏈👀

The @italianfootballleague is bringing every team to Milan for one opening weekend. Players meet future rivals, fans get a full weekend of football, and the fellas here at EA have ideas to make it the best it possibly can be: ideas for tailgating, team-themed bars, and team merch throughout Milan.

A first look at what we’ve been building. 👀
Every club. Every league. Rated by the imports who actually played there. Payment, contract, housing, coaching, film, and more.

This is @bluestarsmarseille , based on just 3 imports so far. This isn’t a final product, not a verdict, it’s a preview.

To make this real, we need more submissions. If you’ve played overseas, the survey is live at exportedathletes.com (link in bio). Every form is vetted by our team. No fake submissions make it in.

We’re building something nobody has built before, so we know it won’t be perfect. Players and clubs, we want your feedback.

Help yourself and the imports that are to follow you - take 5 minutes per team and share your experience

The London Guard are building a staff with serious pedigree 🇬🇧🏈 @londonguardfootball

Head coach Andrew Weidinger just brought in Wade Harman to run the offensive line. Harman spent 15 years with the Baltimore Ravens and won 2 Super Bowls, then coached in Atlanta, Denver and Miami. He came to Europe in 2025 as O-line coach for the Madrid Bravos, where his unit helped Reid Sinnett win ELF MVP, and spent 2026 with the Rhein Fire. Now he’s in London.

Look at this staff 👇
🔹 HC Andrew Weidinger (2022 ELF Coach of the Year, 2x champion OC with Rhein Fire)
🔹 DC Tim Lewis (former 1st round pick, ex-Boston College DC)
🔹 OL Wade Harman (2x Super Bowl champ)
🔹 DL Jonathan Hayes (former Bengals assistant, former BattleHawks head coach)

The big question now. Two London teams are about to fight over the same homegrown talent pool. Some of the best British players are starring for teams across Europe. Who should the Guard bring home first? Drop your picks below 👇

There hasn’t been a better time to go home in decades🇬🇧

The Austrian Football League is down to 6 teams for 2027. 🇦🇹🏈

Tirol got relegated. Salzburg stepped down on their own. And the Division 1 champs, the Styrian Bears, turned down promotion. Only 4 Austrian teams left, all from Vienna and Graz.

Is a six-team AFL good or bad for Austrian football? Drop it in the comments 👇

A lot that goes into this answer… 🤔

LET US KNOW ⬇️

Anywhere outside of the US is fair game 🏈 by @exportedathletes

The three things @alldaymaxgray is trying to bring to Swiss Football:

1. A chance to win a championship - He frames winning as the ultimate goal built through better preparation, coaching, and a committed group rather than just chasing results.

2. Real player development - He means structured improvement: progressive strength and conditioning work, sprint training, tracking whether players are actually getting faster, and coaching that improves both position-specific skills and athleticism.

3. A strong group of teammates - He wants an environment with people who work hard together, support one another, and are committed to getting better.

Max Gray said the part nobody wants to say out loud: winning is cool, but the real goal is building a place people want to come back to.

@ a team you played for that felt like family

He went from college transfer to getting a random call from Switzerland, then turned that into 6 seasons with @calanda_broncos and now a full-time role living in Switzerland with @wintiwarriors .

A lot of imports best experiences happen when they invest in those local guys and start trying to serve the room…players, coaches, flag, tackle, youth, all of it.

That’s the difference between a roster and a culture.
If you’re building anything: a team, a program, a business.. this episode is for you

@alldaymaxgray gets into everything he’s doing for the Warriors, and lays the Blueprint for what all teams in Europe should be doing if they seek longevity and success - definitely don’t want to miss this one

What’s the best team culture you’ve ever been part of?

The University of Michigan (@uofmichigan ) is now working with German football. Not on recruiting. On the business side.

The GFL Ligaverbund, the association that runs Germany’s GFL (@germanfootballleague ) and GFL2 (@gfl2_ ) just launched a project with Michigan’s sport management program. It kicked off September 21. Michigan students are working directly with six clubs: the Dresden Monarchs (@dresdenmonarchs ), Munich Cowboys (@munichcowboys ), Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (@unicornsfootball ) , Rostock Griffins (@rostockgriffins ) , Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (@kielbaltichurricanes ) and Braunschweig Lions (@braunschweig__lions ) . Each club gets its own assignment, from finding and keeping members to growing crowds, social media, fan loyalty and landing sponsors. It starts with fan surveys to figure out who these clubs are reaching and who they’re missing. The results get shared with every club in the GFL and GFL2, not just the six.

The man leading it is Dr. Jan Boehmer (@janboehmer ). He’s German-born, now a Michigan professor, and he’s done this before. He studied the Munich Ravens’ (@munichravens ) first season in 2023. His research found that fans got attached fast, and that winning wasn’t what made them identify with the team. So what actually builds a fanbase overseas? We’re getting into it.

This is one of the huge issues with Europe, and the successful clubs are have foundations of continuity and community. But how do we get there on a consistent basis? What makes fans invest their emotions, time, and money when there is so much fluctuation of which league are these teams in? Will this team even be around next year? Finding the answers to these questions and more could unlock the secret to a massive movement towards American Football internationally.

We want in on this. Growing the game overseas is what Exported Athletes is built on, and we’d love to be part of what comes next. 🏈🇩🇪
