🏳️‍🌈 Demonstration in ODENPLAN/ Stockholm!

In support of Agaba Rogers, and in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in Turkey

We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 10th , in Odenplan AT 4 PM m, in solidarity with Agaba Rogers, a gay man from Uganda who is facing deportation from Sweden to Uganda.🇺🇬

Agaba left Uganda in 2014 after facing police persecution, violence, rejection, and discrimination because of his sexual orientation.

Today, he faces the risk of being sent back to a country he left in search of safety.

🚨According to the latest information, numerous death threats against him have been documented, from his family and from many people in Uganda. His personal information has also been shared with the Ugandan police, and complaints have been filed against him with the Ugandan police because of his sexual orientation and his activism in Sweden.

At the same time, we stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in Turkey, amid the escalating pressure against LGBTQ+ people, organizations, and activists, including arrests and detentions of activists.🇹🇷

Our presence matters. Our voices matter. Solidarity matters.

No deportation to danger.

No discrimination or violence because of who we are or whom we love.

Freedom, safety, and dignity are rights for everyone.

📍 ODENPLAN , Stockholm

📅 Saturday, October 10th . ⏰ 4PM

🏳️‍🌈 Join us. Stand with Agaba Rogers. Stand with the LGBTQ+ community in Turkey. Stand with everyone facing persecution because of their identity or sexual orientation.

"Today, a short speech by Mays from @QUEERAMNESTYStockholm on the rights of LGBTQ+ refugees and the new immigration laws that specifically target the LGBTQ+ community, and presenting the diploma to our group!"❤️❤️

We are so proud and honored to receive the 2026 Rainbow Warrior award and diploma from Tupilak and ILGCN today at the Nordic Rainbow Culture Festival!

This recognition acknowledges our weekly protests in support of LGBTQ+ refugees facing deportations from Sweden, as well as our solidarity with arrested activists in Turkey.

Solidarity is one of the most powerful weapons against homophobia, intolerance, and hatred. Thank you Tupilak for appreciating our work—this gives us even more strength to keep fighting! 💪🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤️❤️

i want you to imagine
you are disowned by your so called family in your so called home country
in this case it's uganda
this is only because you are living as your true self and is openly gay
you have been in sweden for 12 years
also here struggling with our horrible bureaucratic system that is making it extremely difficult to be an immigrant or refugee, regardless of who you are and where you come from
during these years in sweden you have found queer community and made a home - a real one
you are still traumatised and worried all the time
that the day will come, that migrationsverket says
you have to go back
this day has arrived
you are TERRIFIED
your so called family has not only disowned you completely
they are also begging the swedish government to deport you, so that they can kill you or make sure you are in prison for life
where i am sure that there also will be harassment and violence
the online hate and threats you still receive will be used in your case as evidence that’s it impossible for you to go back and live a dignified life - or even live
and not even that is enough
you have to suffer through even more hate and threats - for what?
imagine this: migrationsverket, migrationsdomstolen, politicians
what would you do if this was you?
if this was your loved one?
hopefully if you had any kind of heart you would fight to stop this!
that is all are we asking - stop the deportation of agaba rogers. keep him alive. that is a very basic human right. by @fakedaughter
