Today was the 14th protest organized by @queer_amnesty_stockholm and Kurdish activists @ms_k_bella , standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and fighting for their rights and freedom. ✊ For @ms_k_bella , a transgender woman from Türkiye, who was detained by the Swedish Migration Agency and is still waiting for a decision regarding her residence permit. ✊ For Agaba Rogers, a gay man from Uganda, who has been detained by the Swedish Migration Agency for six months and is facing deportation to Uganda, where he fears for his safety and life.🇺🇬 🇹🇷 Today, we also showed solidarity with LGBTQ+ people in Türkiye, who are facing real dangers, including arrests, imprisonment, and repression because of their sexual orientation and gender identity. During the protest, @ms_k_bella gave a speech about these issues, and many Turkish people joined us to show their support and solidarity. Their presence sent an important message: We stand together against injustice and persecution. ❤️ Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who came, participated, and supported us today. Your presence makes a difference, and our solidarity will continue until justice and freedom are achieved for everyone. 📍 See you next week, at the same place and time. Freedom for Bella, freedom for Agaba, and freedom for all LGBTQ+ people. and free all the LGBTQ+ in turkey ✊🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇹🇷

🚨 STAND WITH AGABA ROGERS AND ALL LGBTQ+ PEOPLE IN DETENTION! 🚨 This is a message from Agaba Rogers to all his friends, supporters, and organizations. Rogers has been held in detention for a long time and is living in an extremely difficult situation. We all know that Uganda is not safe for LGBTQ+ people, and we know that the lives of LGBTQ+ people facing deportation can be in serious danger. We are living through an extremely difficult time, and now more than ever, we must stand together. We must support Rogers and every person who is currently being held in detention and facing deportation to countries where they may face persecution, violence, imprisonment, or death because of who they are. 📢 Please join us this Saturday at 4:00 PM at Odenplan for a demonstration in support of Agaba Rogers and in solidarity with an LGBTQ+ woman who is scheduled to be deported to Ethiopia on 8 September. She fears arrest by the Ethiopian police. ✊ No one should be deported to danger. 🏳️‍🌈 Freedom and safety for LGBTQ+ refugees. 🚨 Stop the deportations! Please come, stand with us, and show that Rogers and SELAMAWIT and others in detention are not alone.
