🛹🔥 @ee.sss.a took our Seek Shade & Destroy skateboard out for a ride along the Wien Fluss

This skatedeck is created by @dedonleon for @spot.the.dot depicting a bottle of sunscreen skateboarding and flipping the top of another sunscreen bottle while performing a nose grab. The illustration, along with the title, is intended to serve as a fun conversation starter about the importance of prevention and detection of skin cancer among skateboarders. For instance, by staying in the shade, wearing a cap, and applying sunscreen.

⁠🎃🍃 Remember, even in autumn it’s important to protect your skin from UV damage and check for any unusual-looking moles.⁠ Damage to moles can be gradual and doesn’t always happen instantly after sun exposure, so it’s during the autumn and winter that changes to moles may go unnoticed because we’re all wrapped up in layers. Let this be another reminder to get naked and spot your dots! Try to do it once a month ⁠ 🍑🛁🔎⁠

Skin cancer does not just appear out of the blue (sky), but our @fasterthanskincancer x @skydive_antwerp_official paratroopers and influencer @stienedlund sure did last weekend ☁️🪂

💪❤️ We did it! The first Faster Than Skincancer Skydive & Beach Festival in Belgium was a huge success! Thanks to the Belgian patient organization @melanoompunt for turning my Faster Than Skincancer campaign into a fun beach festival last weekend! 🥰🎗️

🙌 The free beach festival challenged young people to think about the importance of prevention and early detection of skin cancer. Remember, it doesn’t just come out of the blue (sky)

'Faster Than Skincancer' is an initiative by the NGO @spot.the.dot to raise awareness of skin cancer

Each year more and more people are diagnosed with melanoma and other types of skin cancer. Skin cancer is meanwhile in the top 3 of the most common cancer types amongst young adults. Many people don’t take measures to prevent skin cancer and don’t check changes on their skin, while early detection can be crucial. We aim to bring the number of newly diagnosed skin cancer patients down and when prevention has failed, we aim for early detection.

We hope to be 'Faster Than Skincancer' by encouraging you to:
- Protect your skin from sun damage
- Note suspicious spots on your skin (fast)
- Start a conversation about skin cancer

One of the strongest men in Austria discovered the damaging power of skin cancer. Austrian pro powerlifter @alex_puerzel recently got diagnosed with melanoma and joined our quest to raise skin cancer awareness.
