I mostly followed the rules, but there are so many beautiful things to see and photograph.

Glenstone’s commissioned piece by Nick Cave drew me to Glenstone but the unexpected and wide-ranging contemporary collection kept my attention for hours.

Last night reminded me of the power of community.

I joined an incredible room of women to celebrate Girls Inc of Greater Pittsburgh @girlsincpgh The organization equips girls with leadership, academic and life skills, by connecting them in mentoring circles with collegiate women leaders and providing exposure to innovate higher education and career possibilities. It was even more inspiring to participate in the community of women last night who rallied around that mission, raising more than $80,000 in a single evening.

Many thanks to my fellow UVA alum, GinnyRothschild of @workscapeinc for being such a generous connector and inviting me to join her at this beautiful and meaningful celebration of Pittsburgh women and girls.

When Ginny invited me to join her, I imagined wearing a vibrant pink brocade cocktail dress that would be a joyful, sophisticated nod to girlhood. I am so grateful to have a seasoned in house tailor — my Mom 🥰 — who brought my vision to life with her incredible craftsmanship and stunning fabric collection.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate girlhood, community, and empowerment. 💖

Not every big idea begins in a conference room. Some begin with a simple question: “Can we make this happen?”

That’s how I came to spend the last several months helping my father bring to life his dream of owning a home in Ghana.

Last fall, we toured homes virtually while I vetted and selected our amazing real estate broker, legal team, facilities management company, and interior design professionals, all before either of us had stepped foot inside the home.

I loved applying my skills in strategy, partnership development, intuition, and cross-functional coordination to source the right opportunity and build a trusted local team to bring the vision to life.

The project reminded me that the skills I bring to executives are relevant across industries and contexts: bringing structure to ambiguity, building strong partnerships, navigating work across cultures and continents, coordinating stakeholders, and keeping complex initiatives moving forward.

🏡 So what did we get?

A 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath new construction home in a gated community on the beautiful Atlantic coast, just 45 minutes outside Ghana’s capital city, Accra.
(Solar panels and sod have been installed since this video.)

Dad visited the home for the first time last month and seeing our shared vision become reality is incredibly rewarding.

The home is available as a vacation rental, so if you or someone you know is planning a trip to Ghana, let me know.

🧭 What’s next for me?

I’m continuing to expand my executive advisory work, partnering with leaders to turn ambitious ideas into aligned action and momentum.

If your organization could use an executive advisor who partners with leaders move important work forward — whether the challenge is organizational change, a strategic initiative, or a complex cross-functional project, I’d welcome an introduction.

A full-circle moment.

Several years ago, Cynthia Hawkins and I worked together during a pivotal moment in her career.

She had built an extraordinary career leading a university art gallery, but she felt herself being called back more fully to her own art practice. We spent time exploring what that next chapter could look like and how to make room for it.

She followed that calling.

Today, her work continues to be exhibited at museums and galleries internationally, and when we met this week she shared exciting news about her upcoming group exhibition at MoMaPS1 @momaps1 (November 5 opening).

This time, our roles had shifted.

I reached out because I’m entering a season of expansion of my own.

I’ve loved art for years. I’ve also been painting off and on for nearly 17 years. Now I’m ready to give that part of myself more attention: to deepen my practice, learn the language of abstraction, and become a better artist.

Cynthia was incredibly generous with her wisdom and 40+ years of experience as an artist.

Her parting advice was simple:
“Begin. You get better, the more you do it.

Why wait?

Never stop painting.“

Life has a beautiful way of bringing people back to each other. Sometimes you’re the guide. Sometimes you’re the one being guided.

I’m grateful for both.
