The pocong is coming to LA! ✨🪩
Receiving an e-mail from the boys of @hetshotfilms, whether I wanted to jump aboard of this film “@pocongdorie” (yes, click on the link to follow… 😌), quite a personal film about a very universal subject. Spiced up with some humor and entertainment value, combined with Ivan and Jasper’s overall good vibes, I didn’t need much convincing.

After a lot of work building and executing a strategy to finance this puppy 💰, and one golden Mc Donald’s 🍟 trip (which accidentally led me to finding our shooting location) we are now able to announce it’s world premiere. Big thank you to @screamfestla for including in your lineup!! 🎥

It was a challenging shoot and a challenging project but it is in the can. Big thanks to cast and crew, everyone that supported the project in any way and hopefully our pocong will soon be the most well-travelled pocong that the world has ever seen 🎥

Produced by: @makewayfilm and @hetshotfilms ❤️❤️❤️

Over the summer we shot the newest short of @janvgorkum called “VAST” (“STUCK”). A very current story told through the lense of genrefilm. Super proud of what we were able to accomplish with this impeccable cast and crew and limited means.

Premiering in the Netherlands at @imaginefilmfestival, but already lined up for screenings across the world. 🎬🎞️

Special shoutout to the Spruijt family, and @stephancpoot and @daphe1988 for linking us up! ❤️

📸BTS snippets by me, but come check it out upcoming festival!

🔥 VAST IS HEADING OUT INTO THE WORLD! 🔥

Our new horror short VAST, written and directed by @janvgorkum, is off to a fantastic start on the festival circuit!

Here are the first three festivals we can announce:

🖤 Mayhem Film Festival - WORLD PREMIERE on October 17
🖤 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, New York - US PREMIERE on October 18
🖤 Toronto After Dark Film Festival - OFFICIAL SELECTION

We can’t wait for VAST to meet its first festival audiences!

A massive thank you to our entire cast & crew for the talent, dedication and love you poured into this film. A special shout-out to our leads, Markoesa Hamer and Bram van der Heijden, for their incredible performances. We’re so proud of what we’ve made together. 🥰

Our big thanks also go to our private financiers, Norma Fonds, Cinecitta and the Netherlands Film Fund for their support in making this project possible. 🖤

More festivals to come… stay tuned! 👀

Last edition of @imaginefilmfestival , writer and director @ninanoelraaijmakers and I were super excited to win the Pitch platform and get the opportunity to pitch again at Frontieres, the amazing co-production market of @fantasiafestival 🇨🇦

And it doesn’t stop there, just before our bags were fully packed ✈️✨, we got notified by @nederlandsfilmfonds that we’ve been awarded the next stage of financing: project development. It’s safe to say we are super grateful for both these opportunities!

And, the timing could not be better. Looking forward to the upcoming week of meeting all sorts of people that can help us give our project shape, and take it towards the next level 👌🏻😀
