⛑️ He was limping for days until I could figure out what was happening, but after 3 days of this he’s moving around like a champ and the abscess is now coming out of the top of his hoof. 🐴 🥰

@firstaidequine take a class with me!

How To:
*Warm h20 + epsom soak
*Saline solution
*Padding (diaper or non stick gauze)
*Cotton gauze
*Vet wrap
**Gorilla tape to keep together is great on hooves NOT around legs

🐍 be prepared, practice & carry a kit with you! ⛑️ 🐴

🐴 First Aid for rattlesnake bites to the face:
1. Have a kit (link in my bio)
2. Practice touching your horses nostrils A LOT
3. Carry a 6-7” hose & lubricant on trails
4. Medical tape can be used to hold in place if needed
5. Push the hose in slowly to the natural stopping point
6. The swelling will hold the hose in place but if the swelling happens before you insert the hose, there’s a high chance of suffocation (💔)
7. You are your horse’s first responder, learn what to do
8. @firstaidequine I teach classes ! DM me to Host one at your facility

Read what’s included 👇

Wearable, Lightweight, Water Resistant, Packable ⛑️ ✂️ Mesh side walls to stay orgnaized. Book a class with me @firstaidequine 🐴

🧷Includes:
Hoof Pick
Medical Scissors
Horse Vitals Card
6” long Analog Thermometer
2 Cotton Guaze, 1 Medical Tape, 2 vet wrap
2 Safety Pins, 4 Nonstick pads, 3 Alcohol Wipes, 3 Iodine Pads, 2 Saline Mix, 1 Saline solution bottle, 4 Antibiotic Ointment,
Rattlesnake bite items: 4 skin protectant lubricant for the hose, 7” Rubber Hose for bites to horses face

Why Analog thermometer? because remembering batteries is another chore. This one is extra long and has a key hole to tie a string to the end before placing into the horse’s rectum for 2 minutes.

THE MOST HELPFUL FIRST AID KIT IS THE ONE THAT YOU HAVE WITH YOU!
