It’s a journey that’s worth it, sharing my experience 🐴

Most professionals and horse owners will tell you why shoes are needed. We heard, “Their draft hooves are too big” or “you ride in the mountains too much” or “the weather is too dry” or “the ground is too hard” … I can go on.

Taking a horse barefoot can be up to a 2yr journey and it’s more than trimming, it’s a holistic approach to achieve a more healthy horse. 🐴✨

I’m not here to shame or tell anyone to do something different. I’m here to share an experience that has improved our relationship with our horses. It was an emotional roller coaster and now that we are on the other side, we will never go back. 🌾 🐴

Thanks to our barefoot friends who gave us all the advice and encouragement!! 🤍

Giving her purpose 🥰 🐓 she’s been on the nest for 2 weeks, stopped laying eggs and her comb went pale. It was time for me to intervene but instead of quarantining her off the nest, I gave her 10 baby chicks 🥰

A fun shoot that we did @ our friend’s ranch in Westcliffe. It was a western photography workshop led by @danballardphotography , the students captured us on horseback under the Sangre de Cristo mountains 🏔️ and the photos turned out so dreamy.

Thank you @michelenunesphoto for capturing these images that I will cherish forever. 🤠

Year of the Horse 🖤 Angus was 3yrs old when we got him, he and I had a lot to learn together but we did it. For 3yrs, we trained and rode hundreds of miles and probably a thousand rides. He taught me everything … today, I’ll go anywhere and do anything with this horse 🖤 #yearofthehorse #hearthorse by @illbeouthere
