🍄‍🟫 [EUS] PERRETXIKOEN BILA SOBREMESAko bi egoiliar berriekin (@mrie_ke eta @facennuvirennu) eta Tabakalerako beste egoiliar batekin, Patirekin (@mother_matter), Lizarrustiko pagadietan ibili ginen, Tere (@teredorronsoro) gidari genuela. Perretxikoak baino perretxiko-biltzaile gehiago topatu genituen. Aurrea hartu ziguten! Baina mendi-buelta ederra izan zen hala ere. [ENG] IN SEARCH OF MUSHROOMS With our two new SOBREMESA residents (@mrie_ke and @facennuvirennu) and Pati (@mother_matter), another Tabakalera resident, we explored the beech forests of Lizarrusti, guided by Tere (@teredorronsoro). We came across more mushroom pickers than mushrooms. Looks like they'd beaten us to it! #FoodHackLab #SOBREMESA #Tabakalera #Lizarrusti #Ataun +++ Co-funded by the European Union. The Sobremesa residencies are underway. From October to December, 8 artist-researchers will work across three different contexts — Thessaloniki, Lisbon and Donostia/San Sebastián — developing situated research around food, migration, care, technology, geopolitical relations, memory and social organisation in and due to the Mediterranean-Iberian location within the EU. Each residency-based research begins from a set of questions affected by the countries specific history with their own sense of identity and belonging, all the while expanding Sobremesa’s wider inquiry into food as both material and method: a way of producing, carrying and sharing knowledge. The parallel timelines allow residents to engage across the three contexts to a partially shared programme, co-designed by Dela Christin Miessen, Juliette Thouin, Mar Vallejo and Andoni Munduate Dorronsoro. Through a series of local and international engagements, the residencies become a space to test residencies as a form of meta-research for Sobremesa, a way to develop inquiry that is shared and multi-modal, as well as for the development of the artists and the relationship with them. Radio Bosco Colto 2026 Ep.6 - Observatories In this episode, we explore the Observatories workshop, born from the desire to find new ways of listening to and perceiving the Santo Pietro Woods. Nine sensors, installed across nine different landscapes within the woods, collect data on sound, humidity and temperature, creating an open network that gives the woods a voice — or rather, a whisper — even when no one is there to listen. A project that invites us to imagine a form of discreet and shared listening between the community and the territory. A story told through different perspectives, experiences and languages: English, Italian, Mandarin and Basque. Special thanks to @munduate , @jasaski_ , @varshalaiand, @foodhacklab @sophieprivit and to all the workshop participants. Listen to the full episode on YouTube and Spotify. Workshop - OBSERVATORIES with Food Hack Lab Andoni Munduate Dorronsoro, Jon Aldalur Soto and Varsha Lai @foodhacklab Observatories begins with a simple question: if a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? The project brings this question into the forests of Bosco di Santo Pietro and Sughereta di Niscemi, where nine “witnesses” inhabit nine different sites. Made from cork and 3D-printed PETG, they collect data on temperature, humidity and ambient sound through a network of sensors. The data travels in small packets through a LoRa network — almost like whispers moving from one place to another — creating new ways of observing and listening to the forest. Rather than speaking on behalf of the forest, Observatories proposes a quiet, shared form of listening: a network that observes, collects and makes visible what is happening around it. The Sobremesa website is now live. More than a home for the project, it is a living archive of what Sobremesa is producing, asking and encountering as it unfolds. Here you’ll find research emerging from our residencies and meta-research, writings from artists, researchers and members of the consortium, documentation of public programmes, and the people and places shaping the project across Europe. Sobremesa looks at food not simply as something we consume, but as a tool, a form of knowledge and a site through which questions of migration, belonging, identity and gastronationalism can be explored. The archive will continue to grow as the project does. Explore sobremesaproject.com Co-funded by the European Union. Beginning in Southern Europe, where borders were historically permeable across the Mediterranean and beyond, Sobremesa attends to cuisines as constructions that often obscure their own mobility: shaped by displacement, trade routes, and survival tactics, ingredients and practices are absorbed, transformed, diluted, or excluded from culinary narratives. The question is not simply who gets a seat at the table, but where and when the table begins and ends. For Sobremesa, the three residencies are spaces to stay with these questions through artistic practice, research, making, cooking and exchange. Across Portugal, Spain and Greece, seven artists and practitioners will work with local contexts and communities to explore the relationships between food, migration, memory, identity and belonging. 🌳 OBSERVATORIES [EUS] BASOA ENTZUTEN Zuhaitz bat basoan erortzen bada eta inguruan inor ez badago, soinurik ateratzen al du? BoscoColto Campus 2026rako, basoko bederatzi ingurunetan kokatuko ditugun bederatzi «lekuko» eraikitzen ari gara. Tenperatura, hezetasuna eta inguruneko soinu-maila neurtuko dituzte, eta LoRa sare baten bidez seinale txikiak bidaliko dituzte. Helburua ez da basoaren izenean hitz egitea, isildu eta jada gertatzen ari denari arreta jartzea baizik. ⸻ [ENG] LISTENING TO THE FOREST If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? For BoscoColto Campus 2026, we are building nine “witnesses” to be placed across nine forest environments.
