Back again with my favourite fictions of Summer! Dungeon Crawler Carl 😈 I read my first Matt Dinniman book earlier this year, 2026’s Operation Bounce House which was an absolute blast. I immediately went to see what else he done, & was at first put off by the Lit-RPG element of DCC. Some months later, after wrapping my umpteenth Reacher book, I gave the DCC Audiobook a go and haven’t looked back. It’s an absolute laugh, the video game elements work really well in the story, and Jeff Hays narration is pure perfection. 100% making Dungeon Crawler Carl my whole personality for the forseeable future… 🧟 Resident Evil 🧟‍♀️ Zach Cregger is back, following up from his award winning Weapons, with a wonderful video game adaption. Austin Abram’s ‘Bryan’ is the NPC we never knew we needed; struggling with padlocks, failing at guns & blundering his way towards Racoon City. ⚽️ Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed ⚽️ Honestly don’t know anyone on earth other than @cjimc and myself who watched this show, but it had us hooked from start to finish. Tatiana Maslany stars as a Soccer Mom who gets wrapped up in a world of hit-men, cam-guys and murder as she try’s to clear her name while fighting a custody battle with her Ex. 🕷️ Spider-Man: Brand New Day 🕸️ Tom Holand’s 4th Spider-Man film is the best yet. Bringing the character back to his street level roots; we see his loneliness as a forgotten man, while he continues to fight crime and go toe-to-toe with a certain new mutant threat. 👹The Kaiju Preservation Society 👹 Jamie Gray loses his job as COVID sweeps the nation, finds work as a food delivery driver, then manages to fall into a job looking after Kaiju in an alternate dimension. And that’s just the first chapter. I absolutely loved how quick paces Scalzi’s writing is. He’ll jump locations and hours within a single paragraph, which brings a refreshing pace to the reading. 🐑 The Sheep Detectives 🐑 This is exactly what you’d expect from the Director of The Minons & the Writer of Chernobyl. The Sheep Detectives is your classic whodunnit Murder Mystery, but with CGI sheep. Surprisingly it’s incredibly profound and heartlfelt, but keeps the comedy element throughout. by @framedbycore

🎭 Join the ANDepic creative team Terra Nova is continuing to recruit facilitators across a range of artforms for ANDepic, our large-scale intercultural community theatre project across Ards & North Down. We want to hear from people bringing different cultures, experiences and creative backgrounds to the project. Experience gained outside Northern Ireland is absolutely welcome, and English doesn’t need to be your first language. Current and upcoming opportunities include drama, choir, dance and creative roles across areas such as costume, craft and set design. We’re particularly interested in facilitators who are comfortable working collaboratively, supporting community participants and helping shape work through a co-design process. 📅 Drama applications close 4 September 📅 Other artform opportunities remain open until 18 September Full details and application information can be found at terranovaproductions.net/jobs #ANDepic #TerraNovaProductions #ArtsJobsNI #CommunityArts taken in Ards and North Down by @framedbycore

Not long now until Perfect Days. 🎞️ One of our favourite films of recent years, Wim Wenders’ gentle, funny and deeply human story follows Hirayama as he finds joy in music, books, photography and the small routines of everyday life. We’re showing it at Seoul Food & Studio, who’ll also be putting together a curated menu especially for the night. 🍜 Tickets are limited, so don’t leave this one too late. 📅 August 25th 🕗 8pm 📍 Seoul Food & Studio 🎟️ ormeaucommunitycinema.com Part of our Many Voices, One Screen season, funded by the BFI Film Exhibition Fund and supported by Film Hub NI. taken in Ormeau Road by @framedbycore
