🎃🍂 Pumpkin Patch Saturday is here! 🍂🎃

This Saturday, we’re heading to the pumpkin patch with Natalie @natalie_noelle1129 and all our friends, and this time we wanted to bring along a couple of extra special friends.

We especially wanted to bring Frederick @frederickthespringer because he hasn’t been feeling well. 🥺🐾 We’re hoping some pumpkin patch fun, fresh air, and lots of love from his friends will bring a little extra happiness his way. 🎃🍁

Because sometimes, the best medicine is being surrounded by friends who love you. 🐾❤️

We can’t wait for a fun-filled Saturday with our favorite pups! 🎃🐶

Quick Medical Update: Today’s scans of my adenocarcinoma show anal gland tumor is small (1 to 1.5cm) and there are no signs the cancer has spread. Next step is a surgical consult and scheduling my booty tooter surgery.

More good news! My floof will remain intact. My bottom will be shaved for surgery and my dignity slightly diminished, but I’ll still be my floofy self. I will be rocking a conehead for a couple of weeks though. Thanks for all the love and support! We appreciate it sooooo much! by @frederickthespringer

FRED Talk: Adenocarcinoma

Hey Furiends,
I’m letting Mum take the lead on this FRED Talk. Please know right now I feel fine and am being such a good boy while docs poke and prod my behind to check on my business back there. - Frederick

Frederick has been diagnosed with anal sac adenocarcinoma. A tumor near Frederick’s anal gland was confirmed to be cancerous after an FNA on 10/9.

It started with a freakish anal gland infection on 9/17 that didn’t go away after two weeks of antibiotics and steroids. We don’t know much else on next steps and/or cancer treatment. We will know more after getting the results of an X-ray and ultrasound tomorrow morning with veterinary oncology at CVRC. These tests will determine if the cancer has spread.

We plan to take you along on this cancer journey. Please note English Springer Spaniels like me - and many of you - are recognized as a high risk breed for anal sac adenocarcinoma.

I used to get nervous going to the doctor, but now I say, “show me the squirty cheese!” And as long as the cheese can is squirting, I’ll be the bestest boy at the vets. Grinchy Paw Alert! Fortunately, My groomer comes on Tuesday for my standard Kitty Paws pawidure, feather trimming, and shampoo, but no blow dry. The blow dryer makes my floof too floofy. Mum wants to figure out a way to smooth my curls without shaving my top coat. Any suggestions? by @frederickthespringer
