My 30th birthday celebrations 💗🎈

We did a murder mystery tour in Leeds that I got for Christmas last year, where we finished with some street food in trinity kitchen 😍 we then went out for dins in the village and got to show them why we love it here so much!!

On the Saturday, I was overwhelmed with a surprise birthday party at the weekend with a couple of our friends staying at ours ✨where I still had no idea this was all planned ✨

The following day we had breakfast with both our families in the village and we got to show them the new house 💗

Yesterday was my actual birthday, where we made homemade sushi in my pjs and ended with a caterpillar cake (obviously). My absolute fave kinda night 🫶

Pink velvet cake 💗 A whirlwind last month, but going into October with something a little more pink and some fresh energy 🦩✨

Baking just resets me so much, and with friends coming to see the new house, it felt like the perfect time to get in the kitchen!! It’s a lil rustic because life has been lifeing but it tastes delicious 🎂

Instagram is just a highlight reel, and I think it’s good to show that things aren’t perfect all the time. Sometimes the cake is a little wonky just like life can be 💗

AD / Gifted | Its finally Friday and it just had to be chicken gyros using the Greek style soft flatbreads from @warburtonsgf 🧡

They were soft, fluffy, you could fold them in half and they didn’t rip or have holes in 😱

Looks like they’re going to be a firm favourite in the food shop 😍 thank you Warburtons and @comerounduk ✨

A long weekend trying lots of local wine for my early 30th celebrations 🥂

We usually do something in October as both mine and my friend’s birthdays are then, but we had the genius thought of milking it and enjoying the summer weather and doing something earlier in the year too without needing an umbrella 😂

I have wanted to try Holmfirth vineyard for years and finally got to enjoy it. I can’t believe this place is on our doorstep 😍

We brought our own snacks for picky teas, but we had the afternoon tea and breakfast was included. There were a couple of issues with my food order, the afternoon tea could have been a bit better in terms of variety, and just a general lack of understanding but just spending time together I didn’t want that to tarnish the celebrations ❤️

I thought I’d take a little moment to reintroduce myself 🥰✨ I’m El, and I’ve been coeliac for 12 years now! 🤍

Me, my partner and Elphie our cat have just bought our new house which we’re hoping will be our forever home ❤️🏡 although moving has been a whirlwind that happened unexpectedly fast, I’m so excited for this new chapter and everything that comes with it. Did someone say a bigger kitchen 👀

I can’t wait to fall back in love with my free-from page and get back to sharing all the things I originally started it for. From gluten free meal inspo 🍴✨new finds and products 🛍️ places to eat and enjoy without the worry 🍽️, and plenty of coeliac-friendly recommendations along the way!

I’m also really looking forward to being more active on here again, chatting with you all, engaging more, just like in the old days when I first started this page 🤍🌾🚫

I genuinely can’t believe the community that has grown from this little corner of the internet, and how many amazing friends I’ve made along the way 🥹❤️. There’s something so special about having this one mutual understanding in common; knowing that we all just get it and understand the everyday challenges, the wins and everything in between that comes with being coeliac.

Truly one of the most exceptional dining experiences we’ve had in a while at @millerandcarter - where I felt at ease from the initial seating until the very end 🥩 I was recommend this place from Chloe, Adam the coeliac guy’s wife a long time AGO!!!

We went to the Sheffield branch at the Centertainment as we headed to a vinyl fair earlier on in the day for part of my boyfriend’s birthday.

Marcus, our server had not only great knowledge on the steaks but in terms of allergens. He brought over a gluten free menu, and the tablet where you can filter allergens on and off. I have NO idea why this isn’t mandatory in all restaurants as it’s make the dining experience so much more relaxed instead of sifting through the allergy book of doom ☠️

He reassured me that he’d written down my allergens on the order and that it might take a bit longer as they have to wipe everything down in the kitchen. We were seated next to the kitchen, where I heard him repeat the instructions to the chef 🥳

We slightly over indulged as we celebrated his 35th birthday. I got the surf and turf steak with a starter of scallops and belly pork 😍 my boyfriend got a fillet mignon. I was very surprised to see that there were a couple of sauces that didn’t contain dairy!

I’m asking for a friend, does anyone actually ever finish or eat the lettuce wedge? 👀

Safe to say we didn’t need anymore food for the rest of the day! But we’ll definitely be back 😍❤️

I have so many random food pictures from Malta that it’s just easier to put them all on one post! It was truly one of the best experiences for finding gluten and dairy free food easily. For such a small island places were easy to get to by public transport or Bolt! 🇲🇹

🐘 @elephantshoe would highly recommend for brunch vibes, it was so hot I needed something refreshing!

🦐 The only gluten free item on the menu from the pool, but it was a delicious prawn salad

@kamycocktailbar Of course had to visit this place after I saw all over the other app 😂

🍜 After a day of island hopping, we got back in time for the England match and order through the bolt app. Tikkas Thai were so good for gf!!

🍍An afternoon at Gozo meant we had to get the famous overpriced pina colada in a pineapple

👙 Lunch by the beach of Xlendi Bay

🍦An ice cream a day, keeps the doctor away

💪🏽 Mussels, a holiday must

🍞 We stumbled upon this place after a day in Rabat, and I thought hey I’ve seen that on @kasiasplate page. What are the chances! 10/10 sandwiches that just shouldn’t be gf they were that good!!

All you can eat sushi 👀 we do this everytime we go away somewhere and it’s so much fun!

🍹 I don’t think I can count on two hands how many aperols I had during this holiday 🤪

The absolute highlight of the entire holiday - @wildhoneyvalletta . Make sure you save this place to your itinerary, as we went three times. It’s now on Old Bakery Street, and not one to miss.

It gives cosy pub vibes, with only a couple of inside tables. The playlist was top notch on every visit and the whole aesthetic was just a bit of us. The place is a family business, and on our visits were just a friendly one man band; from host and chef. In fact, we often shared a Frangelico with him on ice and discussed many stories.

The food menu is 100% gluten free with some vegan options. Like when can we ever share food with someone! It was such a treat. They also had gluten free beers on draught and in the fridge; although there were some non gf drink options.

The first time we went, we opted for the Ftira - the only gluten free place on the island for it. You could pick the size of this, luckily on our visit there was only 1 and half dough pieces left as I would not have managed a full one. Even though it tasted utterly amazing.

On our other occasions we popped by for a drink and to try their pizza. I mean, just look at that crust. I chose the vegan meatball pizza, which didn’t disappoint. We ended up sharing this because Malta really does not scrimp on size; we even got some delicious homemade pesto on the side.

Overall, just a relaxed, fun and delicious place to stop by 📍

This was our first and last night meal that I pre booked a couple a months ago at @bistro516 as I knew I needed that table ✨

From the offset, I immediately knew I was in the best hands in terms of my allergens; gluten and dairy free. They have seperate menu that is clear and easy to read, and even bring you an allergy flag out with seperately wrapped cutlery.

For the first night, I had garlic mushrooms with homemade gluten free crusty bread 🥖 and for my main I chose the creamy chicken homemade ravioli (with df parmesan, like what) The portion sizes were huge and I didn’t finish my main, but I’m still dreaming about it now. Perfection.

Our final night, I opted for the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also shared a homemade gluten free focaccia without realising they bring out a basket of gf bread. All the carbs, but was worth it as the bread was warm, crusty and not a cardboard taste in sight. My boyfriend had the seabass which was naturally gluten free on their specials board - which was absolutely delicious.

You know you will be safe, as the owner has coeliac disease. The waiters are also extremely knowledgable and make sure that there is no CC. Another place to add it to your itinerary, with perfect harbour views for the sunset in Valetta. But make sure to book as it gets very busy 📍

Malta has been the dreamiest holiday and in terms of allergies they are so on it ✨ are you ready for the spam? 🇲🇹

I had all my reservations booked, but had yet to find a spot for gluten free and vegan ice cream. That was until I saw @kasiasplate post. Evergreen Gelateria was a gem of a spot. In fact, I went every day after dinner, if not twice a day as we were staying in Valetta 😍

From the flavours, to their knowledge of allergens, it is hands down the best gelato and selection I’ve ever seen. They handle non gluten free cones and wafers, but wipe down everything and change their gloves. My favourite flavour was pistachio, but you bet I tried every other one where there were really no complaints. I’m talking cookies and cream to berry cheesecake 😱 the portions were extremely generous. So I stuck with two scoops so I could savour every flavour.

Make sure it’s on your itinerary, as it’s really the place to be for ice cream. It’s tucked up a street off the main high street so thank you Kasia, for sharing this place 📍

Dairy and gluten free ‘Biscoff’ cheesecake 🤤 as soon as I saw the Biscoff dupes in Sainsbury’s I knew I had to make a cheesecake 🍰

I used the bbc good food recipe and just adapted the recipe, then instead of Biscoff sauce I just made a quick caramel which did the job 🤤 she’s a bit rustic as our fridge didn’t have much shelf room left so it was on a slant 😂

I always forgot how baking does something to my soul, I enjoy it so much and can’t wait to get posting more when I’m in our new kitchen 🏡

AD | Proper pub chips and @lambwestonathomeukie have done them right, even better that they’re gluten free and vegan 🔥

We decided to have hunters chicken which is barbecuey naughtiness on a plate 😍 and the perfect accompaniment of thick chunky pub chips done in the air fryer, in 20 minutes!!

So light and fluffy in the inside, but perfectly crispy on the outside.
