You stand up after sitting all day and immediately feel your low back. Or you’ve been on your feet for hours, and your shoulders are somehow doing all the work.

That’s the kind of everyday body puzzle I’m thinking about while I set up Posture Core.

“I thought you were a stretch studio. What’s with the classes?”

On the stretch bench, we help you find movement with our hands and guidance. In Posture Core, you get to explore some of those connections for yourself, with me coaching you through it.

We move slowly. We try different tools and positions. You might discover that changing how you support your feet lets your shoulders relax, or that a smaller movement gives you more room to breathe. There’s no pressure to keep up or push deeper.

If your body feels different lately, whether from long days, recurring tension, or hormonal changes, you don’t have to figure it all out before you walk in.

Come curious. We’ll move, notice what changes, and find something you can take into the rest of your day.

That’s Posture Core. And yes, it belongs in a Stretch Studio.

Join us: Tuesdays at 6 PM, Fridays at 9 AM, and Saturdays at 10 AM or 11 AM.

Special: 3 classes for $59. Book at www.thestretchstudios.com

Will we be twirling in class? Probably not. 😅

Did I need to test my balance and see what else the stick could do? Absolutely.

That playful moment actually says a lot about Danda Release. Balance grows when the body learns to adjust, respond, and stay connected while something around it changes.

During this 90-minute pop-up, we’ll explore mobility, balance, strength, breathwork, functional movement, and supported stretching. The danda gives you something to press into, pull against, and steady yourself with while you discover new ways to move.

Come curious. Twirling experience not required. 😂

Stretch Studios turns ONE today!

One year ago, I stepped into an unexpected opportunity with a deep belief that stretching could be so much more than flexibility.

We began with assisted stretching. Today, we offer assisted stretching, restorative mobility, nervous system regulation, and four different types of movement classes.

In our first year, we achieved so many of the goals I had envisioned for Stretch Studios. I wanted us to grow in more than one direction, and we did.

We expanded into the Movement Studio, creating more ways for people to move, strengthen, stretch, breathe, and reconnect with their bodies.

We also created the Movement Co-op, a welcoming space where local wellness practitioners and movement professionals can share their knowledge, craft, and specialty modalities with our community. Together, we are helping people recover, feel better, grow stronger, find more flexibility, and develop a deeper relationship with their bodies.

I am incredibly proud of the work we do.

We do not only want people to “Live Limitless,” the original @stretch.fix promise. We want people to understand their bodies well enough to know what helps them feel better. We want them to feel more comfortable, capable, and connected. When something feels off, we want them to have the awareness and tools to find their way back to better.

A very special thank you to Heather, @hbombmom1. You created StretchFix, built a wonderful operation, and trusted me to take over what you started. You gave me a strong foundation that I have been able to expand, evolve, and make my own.

I want to personally thank Kristina, Isi, Ibbie, Javi, Jav, Kayla, and Madison. Each of you brought your own knowledge, care, energy, and personality into this space. Every one of you helped shape what Stretch Studios has become.

To every client who has trusted us, every family member and friend who has supported the vision, and every community partner who has opened a door, thank you.

Stretch Studios is one year old, and we are only getting started.

Happy first birthday, Stretch Studios. 🖤 by @friendlymindfulmovements

Your posture is always responding to your breath, your balance, your attention, and the world around you.

On September 19, we’re welcoming Anissa Lawrence to Serenity Hot Yoga for Danda Release: A Mind-Body Stick Flow, a 90-minute pop-up centered on connection, curiosity, and functional movement.

The danda offers a steady point of reference as you press, pull, reach, rotate, balance, and breathe. That physical feedback can make it easier to sense how your ribs, spine, shoulders, hips, and feet relate to one another while you move.

Rotation will be woven throughout the experience because everyday life rarely happens facing straight ahead. We twist while walking, reaching, driving, changing direction, and looking around us. Practicing those patterns with support gives the entire body an opportunity to coordinate with greater awareness.

Anissa will guide you through breathwork, joint mobility, yoga-inspired movement, supported stretching, and restorative integration. You’ll also discover ways to continue exploring at home with a broom, mop, rake, wall, chair, or countertop.

Come experience posture from the inside out—and leave with a fresh appreciation for the support already around you.

What if posture were something you could feel, not something you had to correct?

The movements in this video are a glimpse of what becomes possible when the body has something to connect with.

In Danda Release, the stick becomes a bridge between the body and mind. As you press, pull, reach, balance, breathe, and twist, it gives your body feedback about where it is in space and invites you to notice what is happening within.

Twisting is especially important. We rotate when we walk, reach, look behind us, change direction, and move through everyday life. Exploring rotation with the support of the danda can help the ribs, spine, shoulders, hips, breath, and attention begin working together again.

During this 90-minute workshop, we’ll use yoga, breathwork, functional movement, and supported stretching to explore posture as a whole-body experience, not a position you have to hold.

My hope is that you leave curious about your own surroundings. A broom, mop, rake, countertop, wall, or chair may become an invitation to pause, connect, and create a little more space in your body.

We believe in practicing what we teach.

Stretch Studios owner Anissa met with Dr. Valen of Reactivation Physical Therapy for a posture, movement, and pain assessment.

The goal wasn’t to chase “perfect posture.” It was to better understand what her body may be protecting, where movement feels restricted, and what could be contributing to discomfort.

Because sometimes the place that hurts isn’t where the problem began.

August is about trust.

All year, we’ve been preparing the body for this moment by building deep support, joint control, breath awareness, fascial coordination, and nervous system confidence.

Now, The Harvester brings it all together through pistol squat progressions.

We began on the floor using deep core control, elevated the hips on blocks to create space, then used the yoga stick for feedback and support while practicing a controlled lower.

The goal is not to force the final shape.
It is to understand each piece and trust the strength we’ve built.

August: The Harvester
Art of Trust
I trust the strength I’ve built.

Repetition creates familiarity.
Familiarity creates confidence.
Confidence becomes wisdom.

Throughout class, we practiced Micro-Motor Control….small, intentional movements that helped our brains and bodies communicate more clearly. Each movement built on the one before it, preparing us for this gentle occipital traction and rotational mobility drill.

What felt unfamiliar at first became an opportunity to practice curiosity, trust, and the willingness to surrender to the experience.

Sometimes movement is about sensing more.

✨ Curious about Micro-Motor Control?

Micro-Motor Control is the practice of using small, intentional movements to improve communication between your brain, joints, muscles, and fascia. These subtle movements build awareness, coordination, balance, and mobility, creating a stronger foundation for how you move every day.

Come experience it for yourself in a Stretch Studios mindful movement class. Your body might surprise you.

✨ I discovered a new studio and LOVED it! ✨

I recently visited @thestretchstudios and experienced both their Stick Mobility Flow class and their signature MindBody Release Method

I left feeling like my body could move so much more freely and was just another sign that stretching and mobility are key to stress relief in the body.

Their group classes use tools like sticks (something I didn't realize even existed), yoga balls, and blocks to improve mobility, balance, posture, and flexibility through guided movement.

Then I experienced their MinBody Release Method, which combines breathwork, massage techniques, aromatherapy, percussion therapy, and assisted stretching for a full-body reset.

If you're feeling stiff, stressed, or just want to move better, this is definitely an experience worth checking out.
