Frost Music Live’s America @250 Series concludes this Sunday with Keys Across America, featuring acclaimed pianist Mackenzie Melemed.

Melemed is a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant and a laureate of the American Pianists Awards who has performed with orchestras worldwide including the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic. He is known for pairing expressive playing with thoughtful programs that bring audiences closer to the music.

In Keys Across America, he’ll take us through nearly two centuries of American piano music, with works by Aaron Copland, Chick Correa, Amy Beach and Florence Price amongst others. It’s a chance to hear familiar sounds alongside new discoveries, and to experience the range of America’s musical masters in the intimate setting of our elegant Newman Recital Hall.

Melemed will also give a masterclass, presented by Frost Music Live and in collaboration with the Department of Keyboard Performance and the Frost Prep Advanced Piano Program. The latter, represented across three generations of students—ranging from 8-year-old Jayden Zhang, to 13-year-old Angelina Mesquita, and high school senior Joshua Safont as he prepares for college auditions.

community. These photos capture moments from our concerts—opportunities to connect, share joy, and spend meaningful time together through music.

For our young musicians, each visit is also a lesson in the heart of performing: the people we play for, the connections we make, and the kindness we can share.

🌟 #advancedpianoprogramspotlight

Our sincere congratulations to our talented and hardworking student Angelina, who took part in the 2026 Florida MTNA Performance Competitions and won the Alternate (Second) prize at the Junior Piano category. As the VP for MTNA Competitions Anastasiya Naplekova @nastia_naplekova mentioned, the level of performance was exceptionally high across all competition categories, a testament to the dedication of teachers, the hard work of students, and the support of parents, and we can’t agree more!
