Our students didn’t stop working hard during the summer! Angelina Mesquita received two important recognitions in June:

🎹 The Third Prize — Junior Category at the 8th Florida Young Artists International Piano Concerto Competition.

🌟 The Black Violin Foundation Dreamer All Access Grant, which supports young musicians in their continued artistic development and pursuit of new opportunities.

Congratulations, Angelina! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication!

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the 2026 Noel Schajris Scholarship Ceremony hosted by the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation at the University of Miami Frost School of Music 🩷.

As someone who believes deeply in the power of music, education, and community, it was inspiring to witness these talented young musicians being recognized and encouraged to continue pursuing their dreams.

Congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients, their families, mentors, and everyone who makes opportunities like this possible. Investing in the next generation of artists helps preserve and grow the future of music.

It was also wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces in the Latin music community and simply be present to support such a meaningful evening.

Thank you to the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation for continuing to champion music education and the artists of tomorrow. 🎶❤️ #LatinGRAMMYCulturalFoundation #MusicEducation #Scholarship #FutureOfMusic #Miami

This year’s music production camp invited students from across the country for our largest summer yet. With two weeks of programming and a new electronic music ensemble, our music production camp brought a lot of musical opportunities to our students to explore beat making, recording, mixing, and electronic instruments.

A highlight of the FSE Jazz Instrumental Intensive is daily big band rehearsal! 🎷Students were immersed in big band repertoire through daily rehearsals, deep listening, and sectionals. Along with 4 small combos, the big band performed a dynamic set of old and new big band repertoire at the end of the week.

Each summer, our Instrumental Intensive campers study chamber music repertoire with guidance from our esteemed faculty. With ensembles including string quartets, piano trios, and even a flute choir, our concert was filled with wonder.
