Americans' views of immigration remain broadly positive, with nearly three in four U.S. adults (73%) saying immigration is a good thing for the country, well above the 25-year trend average of 67%.

That share has eased from last year's record high, with the decline driven largely by Republicans, whose views have moved back toward their longer-term pattern after spiking briefly in 2025. Democrats continue to report overwhelmingly positive views, while independents remain more positive than they have been for much of the trend.

More Americans are using GLP-1 medications for weight loss than ever before.

Gallup finds that 11% of U.S. adults currently take a GLP-1 medication for weight loss, nearly four times the percentage measured in 2024. Since that time, the U.S. adult obesity rate has continued to decline.

While diabetes rates have remained unchanged since 2023, that pattern is consistent with diabetes being a lifetime diagnosis. As obesity declines, diabetes prevalence would be expected to stabilize rather than decrease.

More than three-quarters of Americans (77%) say the U.S. founders would be disappointed with how the country turned out. At the same time, national pride has reached a record low.

In Gallup's latest survey, 53% of U.S. adults say they are "extremely" or "very" proud to be American, down from 58% last year and the lowest in Gallup's trend since 2001.

The decline is driven by record-low levels of pride among Democrats and independents, while Republicans continue to report much higher levels of national pride.

An estimated 15 million Americans were personally scammed in 2025, losing an estimated $68 billion.

For nearly half of those victims, the financial impact was significant, with many describing moderate or severe hardship. The damage didn't stop at their bank accounts: Nearly three-quarters say the experience negatively affected their mental health or wellbeing.

Today, 82% of adults worldwide say they are satisfied with their freedom to choose what they do with their lives, up from 71% in 2006.

Much of that progress has been driven by gains in former Eastern Bloc countries. Yet, several G7 nations rank among those with the largest declines over the same period.

Americans are less likely than they were a year ago to view several behaviors as morally acceptable, including birth control, having a baby outside of marriage, gambling, sex between teenagers and cloning animals.

Still, birth control remains the behavior Americans are most likely to view as morally acceptable, while extramarital affairs and cloning humans rank among the least acceptable.

An estimated 2.8 million more Americans reported being unable to afford healthcare in 2025 than in 2024.

For the first time since measurement began, less than half of Americans are considered “Cost Secure” when it comes to healthcare.
