POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A very special project with longtime clients is in @archdigest today, The restoration and renovation of a John Russel Pope Tudor Revival Home in Larchmont, New York. We worked to carefully update the home, keeping as much of the building in tact while reflecting the needs and tastes of the homeowners.

“We fell in love with everything—from the tiny handmade wooden nails to the sweeping slate roof,” the client says. “Our goal was to be thoughtful stewards of the property, preserving its character while making it comfortable for modern living.”

Thank you to the most amazing homeowners for trusting us with this historic home, to the General Assembly team and contractor DCNY for having this work done in record time and for Architectural Digest for sharing the story. @william.jess.laird @timbrwn @morganhannahg @kristenflanagan

When writer Andrea Arria-Devoe and commercial director Mike Maguire found this early-20th-century farmhouse in Orient, New York, it was known locally as the house with the yellow door. The married couple tapped design firm @gen_assembly to rework it into a family home built for the daily back-and-forth of summer: farm-stand produce in the kitchen, wet feet en route to the pool, and dinner moving outdoors before the table is cleared. At the link in our bio, @julia.cancilla takes us inside this historic home on Long Island’s North Fork.

We are happy to share the recently completed renovation of a 1920’s Manhattan loft, marrying its industrial, distinctly New York City setting with homeowner’s love of English country homes and layered, lived-in interiors.
Working within the elongated open floor plan and raw shell that is characteristic of New York City lofts, the studio preserved the natural light by creating a series of distinct spaces through custom furniture and partial height freestanding millwork. The new floorpan and palette has been designed to compliment the original beams and brick walls.

Cherry was selected for the millwork of our Orient Farmhouse for its warmth, neutral grain, familiarity and the quality of patina. Throughout the home, the millwork provides a contrast and focal point within the neutral palate. by @gen_assembly

This early-20th-century farmhouse in Orient had been through several less-than-successful renovations before its owners called on design firm @gen_assembly. Now, the home is designed around family life on the North Fork, with a cherry-lined kitchen that opens toward the pool and a layout made for farm-stand runs, dinner parties, and kids coming and going all day. At the link in our bio, @julia.cancilla takes us inside.
