Last week I turned in the manuscript for my book “Stay Joyful! The Art of starting, sustaining and spreading joy.”

As I’ve reflected on this occasion I fall more in love with the book…I’ve been writing it for half a decade…but just realized it’s been in the works that long because I write daily…from Greece, to Aruba, to Chicago, to London, to Thailand and beyond…there I’ve been with my iPad writing about joy…in good times and in bad…because we must always seek our joy.

Did I mention “The Stay Joyful Method” is now an award winning Business-Motivational book?

When I was writing this book I didn’t want to simply inspire or motivate people to lead with joy. I wanted to also provide ways for them to put learnings from the book into action for themselves. That’s why I included a Joy Jumpstart at the end of each chapter…a simple prompt that connects motivation to action. It’s part of why this isn’t simply a motivation book. It’s a business book.

I didn’t know if the world would see a bright yellow book about joy and think of it as substantive enough to be in the business category. This award validates my belief in joy as a business tool as well as a personal growth tool.

I am so proud of the work my team put into making sure my writing had the platform it deserved as we’ve now been recognized by the New York City Big Book Awards as a 2026 Distinguished Favorite in the Business-Motivational category.

Bose Akadiri (@goalandgrind) asks it of everyone she meets. She met a stranger at an event, opened with it, and watched the woman's face light up as she talked about problem-solving and how much she loves a challenge.

Then set goals that amplify it, rather than goals you'll celebrate one day if there's time. Life is precious, and there's no reason to wait for some distant goal to celebrate. by @goalandgrind
