That’s a wrap on @transrockiesbike Fernie Singletrack 3. Three epic days of riding in the Elk Valley, and they definitely saved the best for last! Today we were treated to the trails at Mt Fernie and Fernie Resort, which were in mint condition.

It took my legs and lungs a little while to get warmed up, but it turns out a 7km road climb what just what this little diesel engine needed to get going. The back half of the course was three super fun descents that I had a blast ripping down, with some steeeep climbing to get the legs pumpin. I am leaving the weekend with the biggest smile and a full heart. Three days with the best people riding amazing trails was good for the soul! Thank you to the entire Trans Rockies crew for putting on this amazing event. Can’t wait for next year’s edition!

Day two of @transrockiesbike SingleTrack 3 done! Today was a true XC day from Sparwood to Fernie on mix of fast single track with some gravel thrown in for good measure. I spent a few minutes in the best little party train with @ac_steez @racheyfish and @emmamaaranen before my little lungs just couldn’t take the pace. These gals are so strong! And turns out I’m maybe not quite as recovered from the pneumonia as I thought, but hey - that’s life. I settled in and enjoyed the day cruising as fast as I could push it back to Fernie.

One more day tomorrow, and we are in for some true TransRockies style climbing and descending here in Fernie. Let’s gooooo!!

All smiles to be back on the trails with a few of my bike besties today in Fernie for stage one of @transrockiesbike Singletrack 3! Started off a little hot, paid the price, but managed to pull myself back together and gain a few spots up the big climb of the day. One of the best parts was swapping race stories with my guy @evanolauson who is also racing this year! What a day. Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow 🫶

It’s @transrockiesbike race week!! In just a few days we’ll be hitting the trails in Fernie for Singletrack3. I am so excited to get to spend three days racing with the amazing community of humans that I’ve acquired over my years of racing these events, including a good chunk of the rad women pictured here! The people are truly what make these events special. Who else is gonna be there?!

Unbound 200, what a wild ride. The Flint Hills threw everything at us out there; mud, wind, heat, hail, thunderstorms, floods. The word that keeps coming to mind when asked about the conditions is heinous. Yet somehow close to 1500 people propelled themselves over those 333kms in the face of adverse conditions. I am proud to be one of those people.

My day felt hard, like really really hard. A bout of pneumonia in late April put me on the back foot physically. As much as I told myself I was 95% healthy, it was a mental battle to keep moving forward. This race demands 100%, no questions asked. After a quick tear shed at about mile 10 knowing that the performance goals I had for the day were out the window, I pressed on. My niece’s 10th birthday was the next day, and I wanted to be able to tell her I didn’t give up. Being selected to be on the Elite women’s start line at @unboundgravel really is a privilege, and I did not take that for granted.

My motto for the day was “just because you’re feeling bad, it doesn’t mean you’re doing bad.”

I caught some people in the technical muddy sections, held onto wheels when I could, and tried to be a good wheel in return. Huge thanks to @king_iz and @flo.norm , without the two of you I would have had a very lonely day in the wind.

@evanolauson as always was the best support crew I could have asked for. He told me I was doing great, when I was sure that I wasn’t, and kept my bike running smoothly throughout all 206 miles. I am deeply grateful for his unwavering support.

I have to give a huge shoutout to @kathrynmargret who made sure to be at the finish line to give me a hug at the end of a 14 hour day of working and doing the 50miler. I’m grateful to call you my friend. Also thanks to @libbylabels and @sorellasaskia who were there to cheer me in and grab my bike when I was so tired I could barely talk 😂

Thank you also to @bravaendurance @f2cnutrition and @lakesidebikeco for your support in this crazy endeavor, and all season long.

@feistycycling Gravel Mechanic Camp was a such a blast! We spent the weekend in Tucson with an all-star team of the Feisty crew, and a gang of awesome women to take it all in. We got to learn from the GOATs of the bike mechanic world @o_acacia & @paige_stu_art 🙌 It’s safe to say that we are all walking away with a ton of new skills, and feeling way more confident wrenching on our own bikes!

We hit the roads with @serenabg leading our daily group rides. And had @libbylabels behind the scenes as the MVP of camp logistics!

Thank you @kathrynmargret for creating such a welcoming space for women to learn and play! Can’t wait to go back to camp soon 😊⛺️

We just wrapped up our Mechanic Camp in Tucson and it was an incredible weekend of learning to wrench, working on riding skills and trying things that challenged us. It’s incredible to spend a weekend in a space built by women for women. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this weekend special. ❤️ by @golindsgo

@trgravelroyale Day 3 was a blast! We went waaayyy up to Tegart’s Pass, waayyy down to the Kootenay River, then a fast rolling rip on the Ravenshead back to @nipikamtnresort

I managed to get a bit of a lead up the climb, and hit the Ravenshead solo. I saw @emmamaaranen in a group headed my way just after I hit the turnaround, and I figured I had two options; let them catch me and roll home as a group, or go for broke and time trial the last 35k solo to try and hold them off. I went for option two. It was a gamble for sure, but when I hit 2k to go and didn’t see them over my shoulder I had a brief moment of relief. The last punch up the ski trails nearly did me in, and from many races with Emma I knew she’d have the power to blast up. In the end I held my lead to a slim 23 seconds, my risky bet on myself had paid off. I’m proud of my effort, and definitely left every ounce of power I could manage out there.

I had such an amazing weekend racing with Emma and @tascha_gray, and all of the other awesome people that took on this challenge. I’m sad this was the last Gravel Royale, I have had such incredible experiences at this race. But I’m also excited for the plans that @transrockies are cooking up for the future!

Day two of @trgravelroyale took us up up up and over Miller Pass today. The climb was chunky, the descent was rowdy, and a lot of fun was had! Back on top of the podium today with @emmamaaranen & @tascha_gray on my heels! One more day of gravel in the Rockies tomorrow - here we gooooo!

So great to be back on the @trgravelroyale start line for day 1! Especially with two of my best riding pals @emmamaaranen & @tascha_gray . It was a dry and dusty day out on the gravel roads, but views out on the course were absolutely incredible! I had some spice in the legs today and was able to climb my way to 1st for the day. We hit the road at 9am tomorrow for day two - it’s bound to be another good one!
